Lets not forget that it’s not just the potential revenue these create, there is existing pitch side advertising. So it’s not how much the electronic advertising hoardings make, it’s the figure regarding the difference between current and proposed that is relevant. Just thought I should mention it before people get too carried away.
Exactly. Businesses have paid for their hoardings to be viewable, either in person, or via I-follow for the season. They are not going to be happy when they are covered up for one of the bigger games on live TV. If you try and hang a flag over any of the hoardings, it will be removed by a steward, either here or at away games. In these circumstances, existing sponsorship takes priority, which is partly why we sell Carlsberg beer and not Tescos.

When we had them for the Man Utd Cup game they were placed forward of the ads on the fence so you could see both. Kettering had no infrastructure on the far side of the pitch so it would cost them more to put them in than us, do all you people REALLY think they didn't make money from them?

I have NO INTEREST in whether Kettering made money from them or not!

I do enjoy people that look for every opportunity to hammer the club.
I'm questioning why we are missing a money making opportunity, I also questioned why we weren't having kitchens in the East, got slagged off by the usual suspects, and we now are, because someone saw that it was sensible. If I think that the club can do something better, and make more money, I'll say it, it's not hammering the club, it's trying to help them.

Sorry everyone, my fault. If only myself and a few others had backed Bubbles up in his crusade and put some posts up in support, we’d be playing in front of 10,000 + gates in the Championship. Apologies once again.
About time you wised up me ol duck... But well done on getting here.

I really don’t care about kitchens, real ales, electronic advertising boards round the pitch, the trust board, people who constantly pick fault with NTFC, tinpot stands and cheap windows. I am more interested in results on the pitch.
Well if the aforementioned problems were sorted out, you too would get your wish for better quality players and subsequent results.. Its a vicious circle.. The chicken and egg conundrum that ntfc supporters and councillors can't work out.. (not the owners, they know the answer but don't want you to know)

TBF mate the real revenue generated by electronic media is the fact that you can get a lot more advertising on them because it’s not fixed, it can scroll through 10 times as many advertisements, you can charge premiums for corners, half time etc etc.

This thread went past any useful meaning long ago. What it has served to do, is highlight the many issues around opinions and the usefulness of airing them. In some ways, this thread is less about the single issue its inception was intended for. It has been more useful as a tool to demonstrate how challenging it is to own and operate a football club. Owners, at any level are on a hiding to nothing. Man City supporters were booing the most funded and successful football club in premiership history.
There is not a person amongst us, who wouldn't like to see us playing championship football, in a big stadium. But give us a couple of years in that league, and the moaning would start about why haven't we pushed for, or funded a push for the prem. If I had the funds to buy the Cobblers a hundred times over, I wouldn't bother. Because on the whole, I don't really like football supporters. I like them as everyday people, as much as anyone. But I do not like the disjointed rationale they apply to their team, and especially the expectation that they place on spending other peoples money.
Another thing this thread has served to demonstrate, is the jealousy of some. And the toxic nature of how it manifests itself.
I will be happy to see the stand finished. I am even more happy the land issues have been resolved. It was always more of a curse than a blessing. I will remain optimistic and philosophical about the future of the club I love.
You forgot to point out our club and it's 300,000 catchment area hasn't seen a 10,000 plus gate in 30 years, the initial poster was asking are we any nearer getting the infrastructure to help our club become a competitive L1 club. To answer the question for you, we're still stuck in a 7800 capacity, non league style ground. Yes it's really hard for the owners acquiring land and building their warehouse on the football clubs running track... With not as you say with other people's money, but their land.

Look at the Kettering game. The electronic ones obscure the permanent ones. How much did it cost KTFC to pay their sponsors for their boards not to be seen? And will they be reluctant to renew their boards next year? Short term gain is not always the best way to go.

True. You can't put a price on goodwill. Well, not until the renewals come around...

But that would not happen at Sixfields as I've already pointed out. So Kettering must have got paid a lot for the Electronics with having to pay the original board sponsors and it was still worthwhile. That makes us not doing it for our TV game look like an even bigger missed opportunity

That makes us not doing it for our TV game look like an even bigger missed opportunity I view both Poppies and Rovers as ex conference teams, and have no leaning towards either. I suspect that it may well be a long time before the live cameras rock up again in the outpost of Burton Latimer. By the time that happens again, we may have moved on to projected holograms. In the meantime, it does not seem like a good idea to piss off your regular sponsors and their income stream. Just sayin..

You seem to be avoiding my point, I'm not worried about Kettering, I'm worried about why we are missing so many money making opportunities. Whats your opinion about that ?

No it’s not an opinion it’s FACT, where is the electronic advertising in stadium, what about concerts, we need a 24/7 revenue stream, the bottom line is the current ownership are happy to pump money in as debt because they know they will get it back when the club and land are monetised.
