Well, there's clearly enough in those emails to prompt a libel action if untrue, although I've not heard of any such action, nor indeed of any investigation by NBC....

Very Very very alarming but not that surprising !
surely now people will really start asking questions
I wonder what people think now when they kept blaming previous councils for not supporting DC. Perhaps they knew more than we all gave them credit for

Well things can't really carry on like this can they? On the one hand we have the board telling the fanbase everything is ok and the redevelopment of the stadium is about to recommence with no need to worry.
However on the other hand the council seem to be investigating very serious allegations against the club/chairman regards financial issues regards the redevelopment.
The fact that a councillor has published them does seem damning in itself(either he is very sure of the validity of the allegations or he is commiting political suicide).
It would not be fair to raise any comment that could prejudice any impartial council investigation and I won't but given this turn of events I'd be amazed if the club did not release a statement regards the situation in general.
I hope for the future of the club and that alone that the enquiry finds no case to answer. If it does😳😞

The prima facie evidence that there might be a case to answer has been out there for some time and the weight of that evidence is growing almost daily. In light of that, it has also been clear for some time that there was an intent to make no statement whatsoever on the part of DC. Therefore perhaps not unreasonable to suggest that the attempt to get the building work started again was an attempt to distract attention - I assume that the work has re-commenced today as promised....?

Not a builder (or anyone for that matter) on site as of 1.30 pm. Entrance to the east stand building site was locked up!

I thinks the key word here is "allegations" - and I'm proud of English law in being innocent until proven guilty. Some of the questions and allegations are well written and express a genuine well reasoned concern and Palethorpe's actual letter (rather than the attached emails) does ask the correct questions - having said that, when the emails start on the lease cost of a car (amount later corrected) and the personal renovations of DC's house you start to see just a hint the same personal agenda repeated on here - even some consistent grammatical style.

Think you need to change you name Cobblerwatch as you don't seeming to be watching very closely how about cobblerblindeye
DC's Bentley (assuming it is his) being paid by a tax payers loan, the same as his house work (assuming he is the xxxx) is certainly something that should be investigated.
But perhaps the council gave him £12m and as long as he pays it back they don't care. Only when payments back stop (like a ponzi scheme) will they and then some happy fans will they ask questions

I honestly don't understand why you would consider reasonable questions about the possible misuse of public funds to constitute a "personal agenda". There clearly is a case to answer, and hopefully all the allegations can be answered and refuted in full. It's also not a "personal" agenda in the sense that there are now many people in many different fora, with different levels of formality....all starting to ask some very similar questions: it would actually make more sense to suggest that "the wisdom of the crowd" is starting to apply, or "no smoke without fire".

When is immediately not immediately?😳
Problem is, time is neither an event nor a thing and therefore can't really be measured. "Immediately", like time itself, is an abstract and fairly random concept that humans conspire around in order to try to make some sense of the world we live in. "immediately" will always be subjective. Any old Kant can tell you that. One man's immediately is another man's manyana.

In fairness about activity on site, DC did say that there'd be little visible change in the next couple of weeks as things need to be ironed out on what's being built.
It may be that meetings with Buckingham are happening right now.

Apologies due then,I only read the chronic version that stated immediately. I guess it will start when it starts or err won't.
