Glimmer of hope amongst a relentless tirade of negative reports? A reminder thar over two months ago I was told by two sources (one at the club and one media) that the plans of the British Asian consortium (not Indians) were; repay the WHOLE loan immediately, finance a rebuild of the East Stand with 4000 seats and Executive boxes, double the South Stand and fill the corners in taking the capacity to 12,000, build the Hotel and Conference Centre on the East Stand, spoken to CW about his requirements for a new training ground, and a couple of smaller items. As I mentioned then it was a positive piece of information, NOW we are desperate for this to be true and be implemented! Now we want actions instead of words (or not words byDC)!!!!!

Now thats made me feel better, also TFAMH from a week ago stating the consortium is very real and that one of the reasons for buying was "very bizarre" However the line "two months ago" sends me the other way! Agree that the consortium are cleverer than DC and are now probably waiting to get the club at a snip after administration. Tough times!

There are now a few interested parties.
We are far from dead in the water. But we should laugh in the face of the first person that credits DC with anything positive out of this.

Indeed DC' tenure will be one of mistakes. Throwing money at Wilkinson when he first took over. Numerous terrible choices of manager, jumping too quick to sack Sammo creating the relegation worries from that moment on! Cutting budgets rather than investing. And now of course his worst legacy staring at most supporters everytime they pitch up at Sixfields
Pretty much indefensible.

Whoever the interested parties are, they'd be crazy to do any sort of deal in the next 21 days. Why would you want to pay off someone else's debt? It's not even just the debt, it's the whole murkiness with the land, cramped housing plans and the mess of the East Stand. If you are a land developer, I'm sure there are far more attractive investments out there. If other local business people I've heard are interested, they haven't got the dosh required to really take us forward longer term. Maybe we should park the longer term for now. I think things are going to get a whole lot worse before they get better, although yesterday was the best news for a long time and very much twisting his arm.

So it was good news.... and dare I say worth the wait.
It may take an extra 12 months, but 12-14 boxes providing substantial income, (slightly) larger stadium providing a tiny amount of new income on the very rare occasions we sell out, a hotel and conference centre providing decent income and houses to pay off the loan. All in all a great result I would suggest.
Now how many of the posters on here are going to be big enough to say they got over emotional and made many many many libellous comments that were actually without foundation. As fans we should be equally ashamed at how we have treated our chairman, as he should be for not moving us forward.
Sadly I doubt anyone on here is big enough to admit they may have been wrong.
Will you? You are owed congrats for by far the longest thread in THE history.

DC spoke on Radio Northampton saying the work commences next week with the aim to be completed in 3 months. The club will project manage the development directly with the builders. I think the details were 14 boxes, extra seats in the East stand, new seats to completed in the West stand with other expansion work. Confirmation statement to follow. Jonah's comment please!
Misguided and abusive. Where are they now? Before you start 'what good does dragging the past up.' This wasn't debating who the best right back was. These posts were far more influential than those of the 'moaners'. I do suspect that County was actually DC though!

I'm actually staggered that someone went back almost 9 months to find a post I made just so they could say 'I told you so', that is absolutely hilarious. It's nice at a time like this to see where peoples priorities are, thankfully most are looking to see what they can do to help in the situation, whilst for others a positive outcome is just being right! maybe it shouldn't, but that makes my laugh so much. But yes, it looks indeed that my optimism and trust were indeed misplaced. To make matters worse I also drive an Audi so I having been unknowingly killing small children with my exhaust fumes. It's been a bad week all round. But yes Cobblerstone, the most important thing is you were right and the rest of us were wrong.

Rarely post then about five minutes after a post appears aimed at you due to your arrogance and naivety you bite. You were waiting for it weren't you. Now that's equally hilarious. Just let it go lads. People have been proven laughably gullible but we all make mistakes, just let it go. Get behind the team as one.

I was just interested why some defended him to the hilt and wondered if they still did. As I said, some of these influenced more difficult questions sooner. Yes, I had my poor cat put to sleep last night. It's been a bad week. So what are you doing to help the situation? Did you come and help us hand the leaflets out?

Apologies and you are right. You just know this board would have been full of Hallam, Sussex, Marvo (anything vs the majority) and co. if the opposite was happening. I am genuinely interested if we are pretty much a united front now though. We might have to work on his sister a bit.

An additional factor for any buyer there may be out there will be if County Developments (Northampton) Ltd has a winding-up order made against it on Monday or at some time in the near future. If that happens the Cardozas will be out of the picture so far as that company is concerned and its affairs will be taken over by an Administrator. The winding-up petition is issued by Buckingham Group and the Administrator will be a firm of insolvency practitioners which is likely to be Mazars who are the Administrators of 1st Land Ltd. This will further weaken the already weak negotiating position of the Cardozas.
The statement issued by DC yesterday does not stand up as having any credibility.
