All this arguing has turned up some curious oddities. As I said, the New York Stadium cost 20 million to build, The Kassam 15 million. I’m just wondering why the Cardozas needed 10.25 million just to develop the East Stand, seems excessive? I know the others were a few years ago but pro rata the 3 million currently quoted seems more in line? Can anyone shed any light on this?

Well to me it would seem that the Cardozas had a little help in getting extra money they didn't need so they could steal it. Alledgedly.

How many teams (League One, those looking likely to move up down form Championship/League Two) have an average away following larger than our away capacity currently?
If someone could put down the numbers that would be great. Maybe Beds? I'd be interested in knowing the figures for payback time of the enlarged stand vs money gained through extra attendance.
Watch your step, if you start asking for facts and figures mate you’ll get shouted at. Gets in the way of the dreaming apparently?

A bit harsh, perhaps the council didn’t want to ask any challenging questions and get in the way of the Cardozas dreams?

Or maybe some thought there was a way to get some nice donations for election campaigns.

Sixfields as it is, is not a top 5 must visit away game for other clubs support. We get a decent amount of visitors due to its central location and being easy to get to from many places but falls flat due to the crappy little stands that doesn't lend itself a big match feel. If we were to have a bog standard 3000 capacity terracing plus the current 950 seats, it could have a few roof supporting columns and giving al fresco carering to keep costs sensible, built up behind the south stand seats that could also be shared with home supporters, we could easily cater for 2500 visiting support. Yes it will only be at capacity 4 or 5 times during a league 1 season but we would become a top 5 must visit for most clubs and if we were to attract an extra couple of hundred per match enticed by an old school atmospheric but safe terracing, over what we get now it would be a major success and the stepping stone to building up the club thats not been possible these past 50 years.
That's not what I asked, unless you just forgot to put the numbers in.....

I was highlighting the differences between a redeveloped Sixfields with a dozen corperate boxes, new resturant and large supporters bar area in the East and a new 3000 capacity bank of terracing above the south stand seats as opposed to one just left in its sorry sad state. As you know the numbers of visitors and that of home support would be greatly improved attracted by a proper looking professional stadium with all the facilities that every type of fans young and old should expect. With a redeveloped ground as suggested, I would estimate an extra 20,000 through the gates over the course of a standard league 1 season if professional marketing was introduced. All these alterations wouldn't happen over night but in 2 or 3 seasons finished in stages but showing steady progress for the supporters to buy into and get excited by, especially important after the decades of constant inactivity by those who either lack vision or deliberately hold our club down as its not in their interests to do anything other than hope it treads water. Hope that helps.

Nope. Battery Man had a go at the numbers (appreciated) but could not find many. Anyone else no where to look or could we use last seasons figures as a guide? Can someone also confirm our away capacity (including the East as overflow) as I am reading different numbers from different people.

Do a poll by asking 100 football fans if they would be more likely to visit a professional looking atmospheric stadium with large supporters bar and other facilities found in modern stadium than a small basic one thats inadequate. If the results are possitive in favour of the former then thats all you need to know, take your findings ti KT and point out his over sight and demand he act apon them. Hope that helps.

Can only speak for myself but I'd rather be watching my team playing winning entertaining football in a ramshackle old ground than playing cr@p boring losing football in a professional atmospheric ground. What I'm trying to say is...It's not black and white and as simplistic as you try to make out..you cant shoehorn everyone into the same category
