so if we were ever to get to the championship then you'd be happy to just condemn one end of the stadium then We get 3 years grace but that has been over looked at Brentford for 6 seasons and Burton 2, so nothing to lose sleep over. It will be having a terracing that finally allow us to one day challenge as a league 1 club so lets get it built. I could see some on here protest against it even if Kelvin had a complete turn around and decided to raise funds to increase capacity by the cheapest and best way. Would you Marquis, feel hard done by?

My "protest" isn't against extending the ground. I just don't see it as a current priority, which it isn't. I also don't think the way you suggest doing it is the best way, especially considering you've done all your sums on the back of a fag packet

Sixfields has one decent stand, 2 non league sheds and a half finished shed, it's no wonder we can't attract bigger crowds and better players. Don't even start me on the training ground fiasco.

When exactly 12th Marquis would be the right time ? Perhaps after winning a league by 13 points and go up to a division that at the time had at least 6 teams that would bring 2000 plus fans?
Perhaps at a time when Northamptonshire is expanding with 10000 plus new homes ?
Perhaps when the Chairman gets Control of NTFC for just about nothing and promises to invest £4m if NBC write off £10m?
Either the club needs a very rich owner or needs an owner who will build the club with a plan.
KT has a plan to make as much cash from NTFC as he can, he is not interested in building the club
Would be interested to hear your thoughts and why we should be willing to wait any longer?

And you will fiance this with the winnings from your flutter tonight then?
How about this. Ask home supporters to pay a premiuim of four quid per game for three years ensuring that this is used only to finance your safe standing. If at the end of the three years a supporter can show an average of 20 games per season then they are entitled to a half priced season ticket in year four. Assuming that there would be 4,000 home supporters each game willing to do this it would generate 1,104,000 quid to build you terracing.
Oh Beds, by the way, what is written above is a reasoned arguement.
Sorry Sing, it isn’t. To be in a position to retain that revenue it would need be classed as profit and therefore subject to corporation tax? That would be at probably 21% although certain allowances could reduce some of that to 19% meaning you would lose about a 5th?

So how many clubs above us in the league ladder have terraces now. Having a decent side to get us out of league 2 is gonna be needed way before standing room for away fans.

I noticed in the Boro' programme that if they go up this year, hopefully not, that their terrace will not be available next season.

I hope Marquis and others don’t mind but I’ll have a go at answering this. I gave up with Beds, it’s too difficult for him to grasp. The answer is a soon as possible is the right time to redevelop the ground. Unfortunately the only element that probably makes this possible is the first part of paragraph 4 of your post.

Surely if it is money invested back into the club it will appear on the monies in line of the balance sheeet and the monies out line, therefore not showing on the final balance and not subject to tax as a profit, most probably a smart accountant would find some way to get a tax break on the investment.

You have stated that things that are common place and very successful at nearly every other professional club throughout the world, you suggest wont work for us? But haven't given any explanation for your wild assumptions. Special mention to your insistance that having a tiny ground with a huge catchmen is good business practice.. Mate go and have a lie down then give your mate Kelvin a call and ask his honest opinion, you may be surprised
As usual you have completely failed to answer the questions, but I wasn't really expecting that you would break with your tradition on this. At no point do I suggest it would not work for us or that we should have a "tiny" ground. All I have done is ask you to come up with some sensible way in which all of this could be financed and as usual because you have no answer you put words into other people's mouths to try and veer away from the point. So yet again I say to you. At the end of the day you are and continue to make yourself look a complete tit.

"Hi mate, tell me, what makes you support NTFC?" "Hiya, well tbh the team is fukcin $hite, no heart or sense of pride. But we have a lovely 12000 capacity stadium which we only half fill each week, mostly with away supporters..."
Get a grip you tool....

Chicken and egg scenario do we build another great team in poor conditions that we cant sustain and then lose for a fraction of their worth or do we redevelop and improve revenue streams then build a team we may even be able to keep hold of and attract better quality thus buying and sell profitably? We must be the only team never to have sold a player for £500,000 and one of a few who hasn't sold for a million. Our record purchase is just 160k some 12 years ago. How does that compare to all our nearest rivals mk posh oxford luton? You see we have a major problem thats not going away if not addressed.

we're not that good in a tiny 7000 seater non league ground that hasn't got any 21st century mod cons like corperate facilities that offers poor match day experience.. So having that 12k capacity stadium you speak of would give us a chance to finally compete with posh for those 30 goal a season players and compete at the right end of league 1 with many more than 6000 in attendance. Hope that helps😉

TBF I've suggested the Mini-Bonds from Tifosy that have built stands and infrastructure at several clubs successfully. https://www.tifosy.com/en/campaigns/standing-shoulder-to-shoulder-to-build-a-new-north-stand

We couldn't raise the money to save the club from administration, do you reckon the town will stump up for a new stand when in the minds of most the town has already paid for a stand that didn't get built?

The Town won't, the fans could. If Stevenage fans can do it so can we. Gotta remember that the bucket rattling was done in a massive rush and in relation to a £10million debt which we thought would sink the club. (Turns out that wasn't quite the case but that's another matter). Present a clear, structured infrastructure plan and it is achievable as Stevenage and other clubs have shown.

To be fair Marquis, its slightly different when it packaged up as bonds vs charitble donation. I am not willing donate anything towards stadium expansion but i would be willing to move a portion of my investment portfolio away from other savings/bonds investments if there was a club bond that gave a semi competitive return
