Rare visit to this thread for me. I have highlighted the one piece I would ask you to elaborate on.  So who do you have in mind if anybody?
Ask Thomas, he said  he had a few interested parties wanting to take over, possibly local but like always, we'll never know, probably felt unable to strike a deal?

Could have done with Beds bitd, to stick one on Eric Northover for refusing to relinquish his old boy stranglehold on the Cobblers to a then progressive thinking local investor, with funds and ideas...Max Griggs!

And those who are criticising the atmosphere at Sixfields...what exactly do you do to contribute?

I know I can hold my head high, get or try and get chants going home and away!

Always think this when the topic gets discussed.

Ok, fair comment. Unfortunately I am recovering from a full right hip replacement and will miss many games upto Christmas and even that timetable maybe optimistic.

Look after yourself. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Look forward to seeing you back at Sixfields soon

If you were any sort of real fan you'd be making sure of getting up to games, even if it meant hiring a disability scooter. Pathetic. Bloody part-time-bandwagon-jumping wanna-be. You should be ashamed. Tongue Kiss

ETA: I forgot to call you delusional, with regards your re-writing the history regarding your unequivocal support for Big-Bald Dave. Roll Eyes

The issue is becoming more pressing given the climate English football finds itself, particularly with future distribution of TV and streaming money.

There is not an awful lot to distinguish NTFC from non-league clubs in terms of facilities and infrastructure. The gap appears to be widening between the leagues and we have to be making the club more self-sufficient in the short-medium term.

It's fair to say that in the time the East Stand has stood incomplete, other similar sized clubs have left us for dust in infrastructure improvements and that is a definite concern.

I met BBD at a car show just before his infamous era of disrepute. He was cordial and easy going! Why on earth you never turned up at that fateful Feb Trust meeting to expose him I will never know? If I remember you were vociferous against him. I am afraid your style is not mine and I dislike the sort of personal criticism/abuse dished out by some on here. You still see it with stuff aimed at certain Ex Managers and current players! Still I contributed to the SOS fund which is more than you did you tight fisted rascal. Proper keyboard warrior. Always remember Hallam putting you to the sword during those heady DC days!

Even Accrington Stanley have made more progress on infrastructure than we have.

I also forward best wishes to Evers.  My wife had the exact same operation just a couple of months ago and found it very difficult to fully recover. I was going to say found it very hard to get back on her feet which would be strictly true but not perhaps PC in this instance.  Anyway hope all goes well for you Evers.

The vast majority of our support base has no interest in the politics, they just want to support the team.

Id guess its 10% at it hardscore, no more than 30% whatever actually happens. 400 turned up at the Exeter Rooms, we were getting 2500ish (from memory) at home games.

People sometimes confuse apathy with 'not being quite as bothered about something as they are'.

Totally right - I supported and loved my home town team for many years - literally travel 10's of thousands of mile to see them each year but I can also rationalize where I can put my energies to make a difference so I accept I pay my travel costs and gate money to see a game - and post on here occasionally, and that will do me - of course I want better for my club and of course I think we are underperforming versus our potential but I don't feel entitled to that nor do I have the means to make it happen.

You slacker, Evers! My dad had the same thing and was up, about and at Wycombe away a couple of weeks after. Mind you, some drunken tosspiece amongst our away following crashed into him while trying to escape the stewards escorting him out of the ground and sent my dad sprawling on the floor so with hindsight it probably wasn't a great idea...

Hope your recovery goes well!

One for Companies House minutiae fans.

County Developments Northampton Ltd the Contractors for the ill fated Sixfields redevlopment have an order of court to stay (halt) its winding up.

Former directors Marcus Grossman, Simon Patnick. Active Directors David Bower, Kelvin Thomas.

Yes you must be "lucky" if you find atmosphere in the part of the West stand where you sit, I am going back there for the second time since I moved back to the North West so I should be in a god position to give a realistic assessment as to whether the die hard grumblers still rule the roost in the West Stand, watch this space for feed back next week.

Hip replacement closer than ever thread;

My mother (84) has just had her 2nd hip op - not doing great tbh, though after her first she was great, infact getting the bus to Northampton from Leicester every Saturday, sometimes meeting her for a beer before going our separate ways!

It’s amazing how many of you chaps now articulate on Dads and Mums who have ‘suffered’ from this type of surgery. The success rate appears to be positive tho’! How much is a half term season tkt?
