It is fantastic that your lads enjoy be a Cobblers, exactly as we all did way back when. The problem is that for every one of them there are currently a 1000 who say NTFC is crap and the ground is a dump, I don't want to be associated with that.
2000?

Exactly the same for my youngest when he attended his first game. He got a birthday announcement on the tannoy at his 2nd and got to come out of the North stand to be a flag waver on the 3rd.
Sadly, bits of trouble after the games against Milwall and McDons has soured his view lately, but at no stage has he ever said he doesn't want to go because of a crap stadium.
The proof is in the pudding or will be if we insist on a zero growth policy , so in 10 years time when all your kids mates head off down to see mk dons in the championship and were still trying to finish off the East playing L2 football, badly 🤣 Currently young teenagers are embarrased to associate themselves with constant failure, it gets them ridiculed. That statement coming out of Sixfields today fills me with dread, as doubting Thomas cant make his mind up, should he stay or should he go? Have some self respect man and get out of our club, you've had your chance.

I hope this statement will back fire on KT. I assume it is has been released to counter the Trust's talks of ownership etc however the reaction I have had from non Trust / non fans is one of total cynicism and "well they have said that before" and "they aren't actually saying anything".
An attempt by KT to control the fans imho

He means Iestyn to stop this dragging on...or are you both just ensuring the thread eases past the 1200 mark? Yeah, but it sort of threw me because Evers was talking about a certain meeting taking place in 2015, but he was a year out on the date - and the name of the person involved.

Hopefully NBC are pushing the agenda of finishing their leased stadium before considering planning applications on adjoining land and holding this line if possible to do this
Whether or not this would prevent the current ownership of CDNL selling it on as it is and also their stake in NTFC is another question. DC had several offers up to £24 million for the land before it went belly up. What would stop anyone else making similar offers? The only thing stoppping me if in a similar position would be having the belief that a developed site would realise significantly more.
I agree. I think this is NBC insisting on completion of the stand before signing off on any wider development works. However, this still points toward a cheap-fit, **** poor looking East Stand. I wish the council would insist on any further land developments helping to fund the original design - which would give the ground a 10,400 capacity - but that these funds would be supplied via CDNL profits.

If it helps you are not quite alone I dont quite agree with some of your comments as to me those Wembley experiences suggested that we have a substantial fan base. How to tap into that fan base is the 69k Dollar question. What is disappointing that during the Championship Season our attendances failed to materialize sufficiently to encourage NTFC to push for Ground improvement. I was refering to the now known fact that I am not the only Yorkshireman to support the Cobblers.

Good point. Surely there must be in the lease clauses that cover maintenance, appearances and general upkeep of the stadium.

The release of the Joint Statement was only to be expected. As Melbourne points out its all pretty standard stuff. My main concern, has been/is, what is KT hiding ? Why won't he release the plans for the finished East Stand, what is it he doesn't want the fans to know? It's been stated that the East Stand will be finished first, so where are the plans ?

Seems like a bit of a stalemate.....the Council are waiting for Kelvin to get on with finishing the East Stand as promised, with the money he says is available, and the council have no objections and no legal issues preventing that from happening NOW, but Kelvin wants to get the go ahead to start developing the surrounding area first.
The original loan agreements for the money drawn down from the Council to the Football Club stated that the football club was guaranteed a minimum of £5 million form the proceeds of the development.
Being as those agreements were defaulted on, do you think there is anything legally laid out now which states that some money has to find its way back to the club?

its irrelevant if they were defaulted on.
As I stated about 300 pages ago the additional land now owned by CDNL is specifically designated land that can only be developed for the benefit of its owners and the council. Its development requires far more than normal planning permission and is effectively worthless until KT and the council reach a joint agreement.

That's an imaginative interpretation although you never know, it could be correct?

But isn't this sale agreement still valid? NBC sells the land to CDNL for £1 NTFC surrenders some land as part of the deal CDNL pays the Council a minimum of £5,000,000 in staged payments as land is developed and leasehold/freehold sums are realised CDNL also pays the Council 50% of anything over £110,000,000 from the leasehold/freehold total of the developed land. https://www.northampton.gov.uk/downloads/file/8573/land-at-sixfields---13th-september-2013

According to KT, in a direct reply to my question of land ownership, the land is now annexed into private ownership and was never intended to be used for the benefit of enabling Sixfields redevelopment. Well that's what it came across to me as. Question asked on inspiration radio back in November. What todays statement reads to me, sounds like the council have got sick of inactivity and constant badgering and has told KT to show he is genuine when it comes to redevelopment and not just the talk he's been so good at. We will soon see.

Or....we won't! Can anyone give the odds on this thread running to at least 300 more pages before contractors are back on site in the east stand?

I soooo want to win the whole lot on the Euromillions tomorrow night to be able to fund the east stand completion to a proper standard and then walk away to leave everyone else to complain about how poor the West stand now looks. Fingers crossed?

I look at it as something like this: I'm the landlord of a three bedroom house. My tenant has a long lease (100 years+) on the property, and he tells me that to make the place into a more comfortable family home he'd like to extend the property, extending the kitchen and lounge, plus adding two more bedrooms; all of which he is willing to fund. However, he currently has a cash flow problem; can I lend him a million quid. (I'm a mug so I agree.) Then, shortly after I agree to lend him the money and work starts demolishing the back of the house, he absconds. Leaving me with a large financial deficit and a property in need of repair. A second client comes along. He tells me that he really likes the property and would be interested in taking over the leasehold. Obviously he balks at the mention of the million loan made to the previous tenant, but he suggests that if we can agree a minimal fee for the leasehold (let's say 50 grand), then he'll foot the cost of the additional extension. I readily agree to all of this (because I'm a soft touch). Three years later, there is still a gaping hole at the back of my property, and yet client 2 is looking to sell the lease on for 200 thousand. #unhappylandlord

I think you have called it. You are a mug,
The one significant piece of the jigsaw you missed was that you had been stupid to grant a long lease to the previous tenant. You made the mistake grow ill and live with it.
By the way I would advise you not go go into any form of Business?
