I thought the intent of the recent meeting and the accompanying document was to 'start a conversation'. Not to take a proposal to the council! As has been mentioned above and has been acknowledged by the Trust, the document wasn't seen by all of the Trust Board so can I ask if this statement to the council was also agreed by the board or any of the membership?
Who came up with 'top-notch', velodrome or an Olympic size pool? As per the other document its making the Trust look amateurish and just throwing out a wild wish list. I'll be honest and say I am not a fan of the Fan Ownership proposal but I have also said I would be interested in listening to and depending on the proposal contributing financially. So far Im more concerned than I was before the meetings and these released.
It's an absolute shambles and a complete embarrassment. We never saw it, it's not official, it's just a placeholder, it's only a discussion document, oh look, we've presented it to the council. That seems an odd thing to do with a placeholder. Personally, I'd rather see a hotel or conference centre built on there rather than the suggested white elephants in waiting; at least then there's a chance of some cash being generated rather than flushed down the toilet.

You could've easily refered to last week's planning decision to allow a 17000 stadium development and housing on power court and the enabling retail park at J10 Newlands park? This is a much grander scheme than than granprix plan nonsence but doesn't fit in with our do nothing stance at our football club😂 Quick lads lets put out a small community project and woes of frustration before they sus we still aint doing anything😂 20 years being subjected to mothballing and you lot say nothing, but should anyone put forward a leaflet to suggest ideas to move forward, and your all over it! Loyalty to all the differing chairmen knows no bounds with some😉

Just for information, Corbys 50 metre pool cost £19M and they are still having to spend more.

I think that means we're both capitalist pigs in the eyes of certain people...

I also agree. Thats three more votes than Ive seen for a swimming pool or a velodrome (am im one of the Lycra clad road hoggers!) Can someone from the Trust confirm if it was a decision of the board to put that proposal in front of the council please.

If I was a trust board member, it would be a major concern of mine that one of your most vocal supporters is BedsCobb.

If it's to protect the long term interests of the club, I'm happy for them to hold private meetings with the council, after all, our previous and current owners have conducted these type meetings for 20 years now and that hasn't been that productive, well not forour club it hasn't!

I've no issue with private meetings with the council. What I want to know is if this was signed off by the Trust Board and or the members as then it will have some credibility even if I dont agree with the content. The Trust can never represent every single fan but it feels like a few individuals are driving their own plan and not one of consensus.

My thinking exactly Beds, chairman can do nothing and they are happy, some fans want better and is picked apart immediately.
Every single time the 1st response is whose going to pay for it as if it's coming from their pockets
Then it's the Trust should consult its members, what for? To ask permission to say something to NBC, The board needs to act as most the fans don't. If u dont like it go speak to them, they are very approachable. You can go to board meeting, apply to join the board and you change it how u want if u get support
To me that land should have been used to get us the single most important long term item needed for success and progress, our own training facilities, either on that land or sold to build facilities elsewhere. But no some on here seem over the moon outsiders snatch the land, put it in their own pocket, presumably for their own gain, rather than something that will benefit Northampton and NTFC

Re the swimming pool, I would like to see that with the biggest and best water park facility in the country. The nearest otherwise is in Stoke

Maybe you have misunderstood my point. IF this is agreed by the board then good. If it is a few individuals, as was the case with the last document then its not good. If fans such as yourself and the Trust want the fans to get behind and support fan ownership then they have to work as one unit, not a few individuals. One of the reasons I am asking is because currently I am not a Trust member but with this issue / proposal I am thinking of joining so that I can have a say in a more proactive way than just on here. But I wont if its not being put to members (not on every individual decision) for their say.

Random and Beds both have the idea that if you don't support their views then you must support the current Chairman, they are both wrong, but they both come across as completely unapproachable people who are incapable of listening to anybody's point of view apart from their own. The Club have been/are far to secretive about their intentions, the Trust have the idea it's their way or no way, neither seem to be too interested in what the fans who turn up week in week out would like.

Well, the second could also have been a full stop or a semicolon but as long as it introduces a pause in the words I think any of the three are acceptable. You obviously attended a different school than Neverbright.

Fair point,.. but how are we ever going to know which way the majority of our fan base and general public would like to see our club go? Some want a challenging league 1 club with a ground that allows the club to be sustainable. Others like many on here want a Cardozas/ Thomas style existence in which we allow secretive regimes rule over us for 2 decades and do what it is they do in hope everything will be ok! There needs to be trust led initiatives to allow discussion to take place. Those on here getting precious over the wording on a flyer are obviously in the former camp and therefore killing off any opposition.

I'm sorry but this is nonsense. Once again your lumping everyone into one of two camps. I'll repeat it again, it is absolutely possible to not support the current trust approach without automatically supporting Thomas' approach. I have (what I believe to be) legitimate concerns about the way the trust have gone about things, that doesn't mean I believe Thomas to be the second coming. To boil those concerns down to 'wording on a flyer' is insulting. Incidentally, don't even try and tell me that if the club had released anything of that ilk the likes of Random, Manwork and yourself wouldn't have jumped all over it. There's plenty of references made to Thomas' 'power points' on here by way of criticism. Let alone what you might say if Thomas wanted to build a Velodrome!

Couldn't agree more. I'd also add that I don't think there are many if any NTFC fans who would not want a challenging league one side with a ground that allows the club to be sustainable. A lot of people are able to understand though that there are barriers to achieving that. Being Community Owned does not remove those barriers unless someone can prove different. P.S. Beds this isn't an invite to repeat your 5 year season ticket plan
