Hope you know a first class Barrister as you appear to have an unforgiving agenda on KT.
Why are you obsessed with barristers, lawyers and litigation? You don’t have a clue, do you?

Simple question where are your FACTS that back up your statement that there were 'A DOZEN' waiting to step in?

There were other options I know that for sure.

You can always rely on the C&E to provide a “soft” platform for KT to air his views. BBC Northampton is no different. Yesterday’s article is not unexpected post Bury. After many months of silence from the Chairman its purpose is to remind us all we should be eternally grateful to him for riding into town 4 years ago and rescuing the club from oblivion. KT has dined out on that one for quite long enough. Let’s move on and get back to proper scrutiny of KT's stewardship of the club.
On the redevelopment/East Stand situation the article was a masterclass once more in obfuscation from KT. Cutting through he usual Thomas smokescreen the message is that once more progress depends on the Council viz: “…… we need some help along the way from the council”. What that help is he naturally sheds no light on. But the Council have made it clear that there is nothing at all to stop our owners proceeding to complete the East Stand. As for help from the Council, it wrote off £10.25 million of debt owing from NTFC in 2015 on the understanding that Ventures with £4million of liquid funds would finish the stand. Our owners have failed to keep their part of the bargain and now they want more porridge. But unlike Oliver they are not starving.
On 30 April 2018 KT in an “interview” from the Sixfields Studios laid into the Council over the continuing delay over resolution of the boundary issues behind the East Stand. He claimed “lack of communication from the Council”, that he (i.e. the club) was being “treated harshly by the Council” that it was “agreed that the Council needs to regularise” the leases. Remember KT told supporters that correcting the lease situation was the only thing holding up the redevelopment progressing. On 13 June 2018 the NBC Cabinet approved the legal document that would have removed CDNL from having any leasehold interest on the land from the immediate back of the East Stand to the middle of the athletic track. CDNL (KT/DB) have failed to sign that document. Why we should ask. In yesterday’s article KT had the effrontery to say in the context of the land behind the East Stand and well over 14 months since the legal document was sent to his lawyers for signature “We are trying to get that done, but we do need some urgency on it because we want to make sure we are in the position to move on and get that stand built”. KT has moved the goalposts.
As always with anything KT says there is a lot of froth and very little substance. KT continues to kick the redevelopment can down the road and will continue to do so with the help of an uncritical and willing local media and a complacent supporter base until he gets what he wants from the Council. He may succeed but whether it is for the benefit of NTFC and its supporters or for the benefit of CDNL and its owners is the burning issue. That both supporters and our owners will be happy when we reach the end of this saga I doubt very much.
Good post, Vintage. And this highlights the problem with those on here who are always willing to jump to KT's defense. The truth is freely available to anyone willing to do a little digging and actually look at the facts. Thomas wants a 'little help from NBC': read as, Thomas wants to wrap up a deal involving thirty-plus acres of land (covered by the CDNL leases), before he is willing to fulfill his initial commitments. The council has already been bent over and shafted by them once, so why would NBC trust this group now?

Unfortuneately I do not live in Northampton but have local fans been in touch with Ward Councillors and local MP's to get a statement about what the Council have done and told KT to do?....ie; what do they understand is the current situation concerning the future of the East Stand development?
Yes. I suggest you read Vintage's post above. He lays out the facts perfectly. It was only a couple of months back when the council held an open meeting at Kingsley Park Club, and the situation at NTFC was laid out for supporters.

I believe Thomas himself claimed they were lucky to get the club, when and how they did. We were very unfortunate it was them that got it.

You of all people should know. A brief look at some comments on here referring to the chairman seem a little unwise! There is also some potential in some comments to bring the site into disrepute?

30+ acres of land? Didn't realise it was that amount...

How about KT gets all that he wants with the proviso he first demolishes the East Stand and re-builds it to the original spec we all thought we were getting... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-northamptonshire-25010816Plans to redevelop the East Stand at Northampton Town's Sixfields Stadium are being recommended for approval. The scheme, which includes a directors' box and 10 corporate boxes, goes before Northampton Borough Council's planning committee on Tuesday. If approved, capacity at the ground would increase, from 7,653 to 10,000.Plans for the development, which would be part funded by a £12m loan from the borough council, also include a gym and conference suite. Councillor David Mackintosh, leader of the council, said: "This planning application represents an important step in the expansion of Sixfields Stadium. "Our sports clubs are an important part of life in our town and a significant benefit to the local economy. "We as an administration have always recognised how important they are and we remain absolutely committed to supporting them." The club also wants to improve its West Stand, with a new shop, bar and family areas.

30+ acres of land? Didn't realise it was that amount... I am not sure of the acerage but you appear to be omitting that there are 2 leases held by CDNL. Lease 1 covers the area from the back of the East Stand to the other side of the running track. Lease 2 is a much larger area including the North Gravel Car Park, the Overflow Car Park next to the Walter Tull pub, the refuse tip area and behind the running track a fair distance towards Franklins Gardens. I think you had not taken Lease 2 into account.

I didn't know they had lease 2. How come the club lost the use of the car park there for a while if KT and his pals owned it?

30+ acres of land? Didn't realise it was that amount... Having seen copies of the initial leases, my best guestimate would be 31-34 acres. A very small parcel of that land is held NTFC, but the majority (which was gazumped from the council) is held by CDNL (Thomas & Bower). There's a few quid tied up there, right?

SoG, you are not alone. A lot of people don't realise that the size of the potential development land held by CDNL is very extensive Whilst there are contamination issues to be resolved on the land comprising Lease 2 the potential is significant.
I don't follow your question about the car park. Which one?

Look, this is all fairly pointless. I keep saying it, KT is almost certainly not going to chuck 4 million+ on the ground with us in Division 2? It’s just not financially viable. He will most likely stall indefinitely until he can sell or we get a couple of promotions. It wont matter what the council does or doesn’t do. Going on about it is about as much use as talking to the cat. Looking at it dispassionately, frankly I don’t blame him, neither would I. Bit of a naughty boy though how he is managing expectations?

MC - I think you are missing the point in your comment about the wider development being referred to above. But to focus on your comment and the £4m, if you are right it would mean our owners acquired the club under false pretences. Heaven forbid!
