MC - I think you are missing the point in your comment about the wider development being referred to above.  But to focus on your comment and the £4m, if you are right it would mean our owners acquired the club under false pretences. Heaven forbid!
I don’t know for sure VC obviously and am just speculating, but looking back the comment, paraphrasing “we have set aside 4 million to complete the East Stand” was (perhaps deliberately) a bit vague? I have always believed they missed off the caveat “ if financially viable to do so”. They have indicated as much, and to be fair all perfectly reasonable. Not really in the spirit of what was implied at the start though, and I think that is what is causing the groundswell of ill feeling, which is also understandable?

It’s far from reasonable and you know it.

How about KT gets all that he wants with the proviso he first demolishes the East Stand and re-builds it to the original spec we all thought we were getting...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-northamptonshire-25010816

Plans to redevelop the East Stand at Northampton Town's Sixfields Stadium are being recommended for approval.

The scheme, which includes a directors' box and 10 corporate boxes, goes before Northampton Borough Council's planning committee on Tuesday.

If approved, capacity at the ground would increase, from 7,653 to 10,000.

Plans for the development, which would be part funded by a £12m loan from the borough council, also include a gym and conference suite.

Councillor David Mackintosh, leader of the council, said: "This planning application represents an important step in the expansion of Sixfields Stadium.

"Our sports clubs are an important part of life in our town and a significant benefit to the local economy.

"We as an administration have always recognised how important they are and we remain absolutely committed to supporting them."

The club also wants to improve its West Stand, with a new shop, bar and family areas.

And write off the debt of £5m yes.

The clear understanding of NBC was Ventures made a commitment to complete the stand.  That was integral to NBC giving its consent to the purchase of the club. Immediately before the purchase took place a MoU was signed between Ventures and the Council.  The problem is that it was very poorly written and was legally non-binding.  Our owners have taken and continue to take full advantage of this.

SoG - the North Gravel Car Park was owned by the Government Agency, Homes & Communities Agency until a few years ago.  I think you are right about it being closed to us for a short period but that would have been a decision of the Agency.

The freehold title is now owned by the Council.  The issue that could well face us supporters in the future is that if, as looks likely, CDNL is allowed to develop the land including the North Car Park and Overflow Car Park there is going to be traffic chaos on match days.  We have already lost permanently use of the South Car Park.

But many on here continue to have faith that we can rely on KT always to put the best interests of the club and its supporters first.  After all, he said words to that effect as recently as yesterday's C&E article.  Mind you he also said to the BBC on 26 November 2015 there was £4 million in the kitty for East Stand and investment in the club. I wonder if it is still sitting there ready for use.

This was all done under the ticking clock of administration and expulsion from the league, if KT wants to push through the deal show the fans and people of Northampton the plans for the redevelopment of the East and get people on board, the vale of secrecy does him absolutely no favours.
I have no problem with KT and DB making a decent profit as long as NTFC and the people of Northampton get their fair share. Over to you KT.

what I meant Manny is that it is reasonable not to spend 4 million when it is not financially viable to do so. What’s unreasonable is that a commitment was implied to the contrary at the front end.

Roger, it might be 'pie in the sky' but, in the near future, is it possible to get the Leader of NBC and KT together for a Q & A session?

At least fans could TRY and get some information directly!!!

Apologies - I meant my recent comment above to be in relation to the suggestion of a joint Jonathan Nunn - Kelvin Thomas Q&A session in front of supporters.

Let me check if I have got this much right - some supporters are happy that DB & KT who bought +30 acres of community land on a long lease for £160,000 could walk away with, quite possibly many millions of pounds profit from the sale/development of that land provided that the East Stand is completed, the "missing millions" are recovered by the Council (BTW the moneys originally lent to NTFC came via the EU to UK Government to NBC and so was tax payers money in a wider sense) when the owners bought the club in 2015 for £1.00 agreeing with NBC at that time to complete the stand?  I think if that was to be the pact the idea of the good people of Northampton and our supporters "getting" anything beyond that is very optimistic

If he spends the £4M than the loan account will be £9M.  We have enough complaints as it is at todays figure.

It would only be 9million if the club get billed for it. When he walked thru the door with 4million in his hip pocket there was no suggestion we had to pay for it ourselves.

Of course the company owning the stadium wil be billed for it.  That company leases the stadium to NTFC. The club pays for it one way or anothe or are you saying that if he sells the club he retains the development?

Oh I see.
I didnt realize when he arrived in town he was acting as a loan shark. I thought he said his consortium had 4million quid operating money, part or all of which would be used to finish the east stand.
If he'd have said there and then, that money was only ever a temporary loan how do you think his proposals and business plan would have been met. Favourably?
