Get the well wishers, Northampton folk (not current fans already paying) and businesses to the table then.

They’ve stayed away so far so please work the magic needed.

Just curious but do the club charge NBC/Veolia rent on the Sixfields recycling centre and also receive a rental fee when the fair pitches up at the North Car Park?
Additionally as a hotel was part of plans at various times and locations what would prevent the small car park next to the Walter Tull being a convenient site where the land remediation would be less of an issue than the bottom part of the combined sight?

I was always convinced if I won the euromillions I’d buy the club and go crazy on the building but realistically I’d probably sponsor a player or Adam Moreton.

Not the clubs land. The car parks were/are owned by English Partnerships I think and the £3 a car or however much covers the rent the club pays them I think.
As for the tip, well, it was the councils land to start with so they probably kept that bit. Struggling to remember if it was there pre-1994. Have a feeling it was actually

My arse. Yes, my arse could do a better job of projecting this club forward. There is huge potential within this town/county to move the club forward. All we see on a daily basis is more people, more building, more traffic, more rubbish, more burgers, more roads, more bloody everything. Except at Sixfields where we see stasis. Vermin. Energy, drive, ambition, call it what you like but the negativity and personal greed of our owners mean they can't even be arsed (yes, a big fat cheeky arse) to make any effort to improve on what we have. A rotating dildo would achieve more than these gimps. We need shot of them pronto. We need simple, honest drive to move things on. Get the bleeding stand finished and then let's take the next step. It ain't rocket science, it is mere bricks and mortar. A complete arse could do it.

English Partnerships no longer exist and became the Homes and Communities Agency some time ago. They as a Gov body then signed over ownership inclusive of all the other tracts of land to NBC who then signed over the leases to CDNL etc etc. The tip and side car park were clearly marked on the maps showing extent of included land on original plans showing Sixfields footprint and then the secondary CDNL/First Land deal footprint making the total site outline before all the shenanigans.
(I don’t think I’ve ever used “shenanigans “ in a sentence before)

We always look for an excuse as to do nothing and greatly exaggerate the costs and implications as being unattainable but over look the sobering fact that we're the only club in the top 5 divisions to never have improved our infrastructure to benefit our club these past 20 years!

In recent years the club opened a new ticket office and club shop, replaced the old style turnstiles with modern electronic ones and extended executive accommodation at the rear of the east stand. A new digital scoreboard was also added to the north stand roof in November 2012.

Think spare capacity and being able to maximise on the bigger league and cup games, whilst established in L1...
That was a massive post to show you fail to understand the basic needs of our football club and showing you still fail to grasp the difference between a community football club and a specific manufacturing or service providing businesses...
This quiz has gone international, my mates just texted the Memorial Ground. Is it me or has the quiz master got his facts wrong again?

Fratton Park?

On 6 March 2019, Portsmouth Football Club revealed that improvements to the South Stand had begun with an estimated completion date scheduled before the start of the 2019-2020 season. The work on the South Stand included new exterior cladding, a new roof, new guttering, new lighting (including emergency lighting) and replacing structural steelwork within the South Stand's structure.[21]

On 21 May 2019, Portsmouth applied for planning permission to construct a new, larger camera gantry to the roof of the South Stand, along with eight sets of roof-mounted floodlight clusters.[22] The new gantry is hoped to be in place for the 2020-21 season.[23]

On 9 July 2019, a video released by Portsmouth's media department showed the first of ten sets of rooftop mounted floodlights being fitted to the new roof of the South Stand.[24]

By Tuesday 6 August 2019, the work to improve the South Stand roof, cladding and rooftop floodlights were completed in time for Fratton Park's first competitive match for the 2019-20 season, the First Round of the League Cup against Birmingham City, an evening fixture in which Portsmouth won 3-0.[25][26] This was the first evening game played without any light from Fratton Park's iconic four corner floodlight pylon towers since their erection in 1962.

'Improved infrastructure' is what he said. Are you saying they haven't? You really have it in for him don't you? You can only grow if you are willing to expand. Do you remember how they used to bind the feet of japanese women? You, sir are a foot-binder. Pied retricis. Oh dear. Cor blimey. Crikey.

In that case what about the installation of the electronic scoreboards at Sixfields. What about the very basic fit out of the East Stand to allow it to be used? Exactly, ridiculous. A bit like including floodlights and camera gantries into the equation? Apologies about your friends feet though.

Hang on you’ve included the scoreboard at Roots Hall so by definition we have redeveloped after all? Your mate with the bad feet will be delighted, and will be able to attend regularly again. Might have to carry him in though?

With the Cardoza/Thomas regimes,  keeping all and sundry at arms length to protect their land grab, no one is going to do anything anytime, whilst these lot are grabbing land!

I don't know when you last came over to experience the delights of Sixfields but there has been a distinct lack of investment by both Cardoza and Thomas on the place. Whilst DC was splashing out on the likes of Josh Low, he didn't bother nipping to B&Q to give it a lick of paint. I'm sure basic M&R has been carried out but I can remember issues with water boilers in the fans toilets rumbling on for months. We had a few new seats, a big telly and a changing room swap around. I think the best maintained element at Sixfields is the pitch, thanks to some great ground staff.
Maybe because it was built as a low spec community stadium but no one seems very keen on trying to upgrade it, in fact they've had a good go at knocking it down.  Grin

Exeter City visit

Andy Roberts, Helen Hickman and Trina Smith were guests of Exeter City FC for the Cobblers visit at the beginning of December.

The trust guests were given a tour of Exeter's St James Park stadium, a glowing reflection of a 100 per cent community-owned club that works so hard on behalf of its supporters.

We would like to publicly thank Elaine Davis, Nick Hawker and the other Trust officials for their generous hospitality and for making the visit so special.

We look forward to welcoming four members of the Grecians Trust to Sixfields next month when we sponsor the home match with Exeter.

Meeting with NTFC

The Trust is hoping for a meeting with NTFC officials within the next few weeks to learn more about the development opportunities at Sixfields. We will let you know once we have a meeting arranged, or otherwise.

New Year Raffle

The annual New Year Raffle will be drawn in Carr's Bar shortly after the end of the home game with Morecambe this coming Saturday.

East stand development

The board received an update on the status of the east stand develoopment on the back of a Freedom of Information application to Northampton Borough Council. A media release will follow shortly.

The lack of re-development and the limited capacity we have for fans and corporate guests is being exposed again for the FA Cup clash with Derby. What do people think we could have sold for this game had we had a bigger ground? I reckon another 1,500 Derby fans and another 2,000 home fans so up to 11,000. I've always felt we need a capacity of between 10-12,000 to maximise income on games like this and give ourselves a chance of realising our potential of sustained League One and a push for the Championship. If the floating fan enjoys a game like this some will become regulars.
Of course, it's how do you fund it and get a return on your investment in a reasonable timescale. And that is why it doesn't happen. I know this argument has been done to death on here but this game highlights our shortcomings.
