http://ntfctrust.co.uk/news/article/east-stand-update-after-next-trust-board-meeting

Following on from a Freedom of Information request made to Northampton Borough Council, we will update supporters - as to the latest on the east stand and wider development at Sixfields - following our next Trust board meeting.

The Trust board also hopes to meet with Kelvin Thomas and other club officials next month.

If there's something to say then say it....if there isn't then don't bother......delay delay does you no favours.

After the announcement from the Trust I was expecting some kind of bombshell announcement........perhaps that is still to come.

And the Trust "hoping for a meeting" with the Chairman........sad times.......shows how little sway they have these days.

East stand update after next Trust board meeting

WHEN IS THIS?

Wouldn't need to ask if you bothered putting the info on your website...

http://ntfctrust.co.uk/news/article/east-stand-update-after-next-trust-board-meeting

Still, under the events page, at least we know the following...

Sixfields Stadium Car Boot Sales - We will not be holding any Car Boot Sales at Sixfields in 2018  Roll Eyes #tinpot

Oh the irony, the Trust get it both barrels from certain people for not issuing a statement about the East Stand after 8 days, yet the people who should be issuing statements have been incredibly quiet for getting on for 4 years   Roll Eyes

The Trust regularly come in for a lot of flak on here? Obviously I don’t know the general feelings of the support base at games, but it does seem to indicate there is a failure to meet expectations? I find this quite strange considering it is an organisation supposedly run by the fans for the fans? The trust has a very clear mission statement, that is as follows.

• To be open, democratic and inclusive in supporting the needs and ideas of supporters

• To promote and strengthen the bonds between NTFC, supporters and the wider community.

• To support the future of league football in Northampton.

Aims

1 To serve and represent supporter needs and interests.

2 To be democratic, open, inclusive and accountable to the membership.

3 To support and promote NTFC.

4 To be a guardian of professional football in Northampton

5 To contribute to and learn from the wider supporters’ movement.

I am in no way being critical or implying anything when I say this, but do people think this is now adequate and reflects their expectations of the trusts primary functions? Are they failing to meet the current standards identified and what should they be doing differently? Has it become a pointless body there for the sake of it, or does it have an important role to play in the future?

I have no real judgement myself because tbh rather shamefully I don’t know? However, I am interested to know what people really think? I don’t really see much constructive criticism, but that doesn’t mean it’s not out there?

Not a real supporter but unelected chair of the Northampton Town Honorary Supporters Club. (Please note: any opinions given may not necessarily be shared by proper supporters. In incidents of conflict the views of real supporters shall take precedence).

I think the Trust still wants to do all those things but it seems there is a complete breakdown in the relationship with the Club itself.

Its a totally different animal to that when it was set up, the halcyon days of a Trust member on the board of the club, 20% ownership wasn't it at one point?

Now it has just a 2.78% shareholding in the club and is probably considered no ore than a "dissenting voice" by the clubs owners. The open forums seem to have dried up......the last one was when Dean Austin was the manager wasn't it? Kelvin did attend one in July 17 I believe?

These days we have the Supporters Advisory panel, run by the club independent of the Trust.

Reading down the Trust website news articles they have a repetitive theme.......for example they requested a meeting with KT this week but there is another article on the website about requesting a meeting in October 19.

They've done a fair bit of work looking at the community ownership models but decided the time isn't right at the moment. They've raised a bit of money to sponsor some kit, raised some more to back a book about Dave Bowen.

All good causes i'm sure......but what is the strategy? What is happening going forward?

I'm at a loss to know what the Trust is doing at the moment........certainly on the redevelopment front.

The Club and the Council? The Council and CDNL, or CDNL and the club?
