The Dubai fellow is too old now and wants shot of this shambles. One aim now. Release the Chiroptera.

It would be difficult to claim your reputation is ruined by comments on an unofficial message board with a couple of thousand views. You should try reading some of the unofficial Prem boards, it will make you hair curl.

I think Steve Massey got the wrong end of the stick. It was not my reputation in question; hence the ? I just remember the Blackpool Case involving their Chairman and yes it did end up in court!

PS   Grin How did you know I need a haircut.  Cool

Larry was correct.. no stick involved. Your reputation here is already in tatters.  Cheesy

If I remember correctly Evers, you were threatening people with court cases all over the place during our discussions about the now disgraced former Chairman arrested in connection with financial irregularities.

Are you a claim anything slips, trips and falls man, pushing up everyone's premiums?

Not sure what you are on about; I certainly never threatened people with court cases during the Cardoza era; so you are not correct. An apology is appreciated..

I’ve mentioned this before but FFS. In most bridging Towns and Cities the river is the focal point and part of the identity and civic pride of the community. Take Melbourne, a walk along the Yarra is fantastic pretty much whichever stretch you pick. Parks, hotels, bars, restaurants, retail, Sea Life Aquarium, Crown Casino, Olympic Park, I could list the attractions all day. Any photographs of Melbourne invariably include the river and that goes for almost every town with one running through it. There is that whole stretch of river from Carlsberg right through to Sixfields crying out for development. With a bit of imagination think what you could do with it, with Sixfields and the Saints integrated into the whole scheme. Northampton Town Centre is dying yet an effective travel link from South Bridge along the old Bedford line through the development and similarly from All Saints to South Bridge such as a tram line could effectively link the 2 and be the catalyst to regenerate and kick start the whole town. Instead of blowing any available money on a stand, if the club was smart it could invest in a protected stake holding in that development and generate an income outside of football to support the club financially for generations to come. All it needs is a progressive thinking council, like minded developers, some motivation and a few dreams. On the other hand let’s build another warehouse. Northampton has a motto of Castello Fortior Concordia - Peace is stronger than a fortress. Perhaps it should be changed, how do you say “fcuk it that’ll do” in Latin? Maybe I am deluded, but you just want to put your head in your hands and weep.

Carrow Road Norwich would be a good UK example, next to a canal and bars restaurants along the embankment a short walk away from the ground..amazing idea  Huh? Huh?

I think we would first have to raise the profile of the club itself in order for it to fit with the utopian dream. At the moment most planners would probably want to exclude it from being any part of that.

Depends what conditions the council want to apply to the redevelopment of the area. They either want the land deal to benefit the club or they don’t? In any event with Sixfields & the Saints slap bang in the middle of it they either integrate it into the wider development or they don’t get planning permission for the gig, it’s not complicated.

Totally agree Melly, as I have said, this land deal is a once in a generation opportunity and filling the land with warehouses right up to a very basic East stand benefits no-one, ok just 2 people not even living in the county let alone the country  Grin

The problem is that it's too big an idea, the council even now will want to protect the town centre.  Angry

A compromise could be that some of the 22 acres is used for warehousing to generate a profit BUT the money MUST go into the football club to create facilities that not only benefit the club but also the people of Northampton.

We can add to the land deal funds with partnering with others, hotels or restaurants, conference etc, get various sporting grants, crowdfund, bond issues etc. Other club have done it and are doing it

Why not us?  Pie in sky??  Whats the alternative?

We lie back and allow KT to tickle our tummies, then walking away have bagged around £15m from NTFC. And we get 202 extra seats and 8 corporate boxes?   Wake up people please !!!!!

Evers, was I right about DC and you were constantly tried to belittle me then

Please stop doing it now

Yes I am board member, yes I had a big hand in the presentation.

I won’t apologise for challenging both our owners and supporters to want and do more

What are your thoughts on the fact we have the smallest ground capacity to population of any established league club ?

I’ll answer that one. Sixfields was initially too conservative and no one has come up with the cash to do anything about it. Forget the ground Random, as I said recently football can’t fund itself through cash on the gate no matter how fancy the boxes or comfy the seats. Even the Prem clubs can’t do that and rely on TV. If football is to survive and flourish at this level it has to be innovative and evolve beyond the current strategies, especially at this level. Establish revenue streams outside of football and once that’s achieved then develop. If there is money to be had then be creative otherwise it will be yet another wasted opportunity, and I don’t know how many more we have. Please forget the ground, it’s a red herring at this point in time.

Bloody Hell Melly!
Forget fans rep on the Board, you ought to be Lord Mayor of Northampton!
Sadly such vision would be misplaced in this town though. It hurts to say this but MK would probably have the attitude of 'when can we start', whereas Northampton would be very much 'ow much is that gunna cost?'

You mean “country, let alone the county”.

You’re far from unique in your perspective. It’s just a shame that it took so long for you and the Trusty pies to catch on. I couldn’t have made it any clearer that the path to getting the best deal, had to be through the landlords of the land and the stadium. Finally the penny has dropped.

Do you know what EB, I have no idea if it’s a good idea or not, this is all back of an envelope stuff. However at least look at the options and evaluate the wish list. If it stacks up and is a good idea then the only limitations are the scale of your ambition.

Thanks for the info. Whatever I may think you are entitled to your opinion. I joined the Trust(still am) in answer to their call to support the Cardoza movement in August ‘15 . To me you are using a sledgehammer to crack a nut! Perhaps to win support on here you need to consider a more subtle approach! Again just my personal opinion that’s all.
