I have just spent the best part of 3 months umpiring a contractual tennis match between lawyers

I have just spent the best part of 3 months cleaning my beach, you think you have it tough?

Now you all seem to be conversing decently, any chance of putting the same effort into some constructive future ideas and things we can influence as you have the past and areas we obviously cant?

Some inspiration rather than flying buns would be appreciated and provide us mere mortals with some mild encouragement for the future.

Lots of brains here but not many ideas.

We waste vast amounts of money, as do almost every club, on new players, other clubs players, managers and their back room staff.

If we cut the playing budget by say £50k per year and spent it on visual improvements, would we really notice it on the pitch? I very much doubt it. But if that went on painting the stadium or building a canopy off Carrs Bar or upgrading a catering facility or better ticket cabins or something, we would notice it.

For me it is about feel good factor, a sense of pride. Most of any PR from the club says hashtag proudtobe. I am sorry guys, and I know the club does some amazing work that is really useful and valued, especially the Community Trust, can you walk along the front of the west stand and feel proud?

Walk along there today, have a good look at the gates, the paintwork, the carrs bar, the fencing, the ticket cabins, the paint etc etc, how does it look.

Now imagine you are not a die hard, claret tinted glasses on fan, you are a casual fan, perhaps on your 5th visit for Sixfields in 3 years, do you get a feel good vibe, club going places, somewhere you want to come back to ?

We all know that the quickest way to get fans in is to play winning, ideally free scoring football, problem is that it is the hardest thing and most expensive way (generally) too. Even when it works for a while, as soon as it drops you a back to square one.

Our attendances have grown slightly over the last 5 years as we have had 2 promotions in that time but more importantly we can grow more.

Has someone taken over Randoms account?  Your best post ever... Wink

The majority of us are all on the same side, the intent is never in question, it's the method to achieve it that is/has been the difference.
This is a great re-start, led by Keith.

Still me !!!, perhaps I have got rid of a few frustrations but my intent remains strong.

Thanks DC although I not sure..  EVER.  Grin

I agree the majority want a better club and in a higher division. I understand it's not easy and KT's reluctance but if we want our season ticket holder numbers to grow, then I just would like to see a bit more creativity, a few more tangible signs that we are trying to improve.

We as fans have to step up to and perhaps gently,  let KT know that we do want better.

There's quite a few things that need cleaning over there before the beaches.

How dare you Tel!

I'll have you know this is a very respectful area almost gentrified, and with you coming from Spring Boroughs, tut tut.  Grin

Actually to keep on topic, Haad Rin has probably seen it's last Full Moon Party and the redevelopment has actually begun.

😁😁😁. Not quite spring boroughs. I was born within the glowing lights of the county ground. My grandparents lived in Spring Boroughs. I consider myself a Semilong lad though. Much classier than Spring Boroughs.. 😀.

If ever there was an example of where redevelopment actually ruined an area it has to be Spring Boroughs.

Since they stopped kerb crawling its never been the same.

I enjoyed watching the traffic "movements" from a top floor flat there in the eighties, I just hope these important lessons are taken into consideration with the imminent redevelopment of the Sickfields area.  Wink

In my 2nd year at Nene College I rented a house with 3 others in Lower Adelaide Street, Semilong. Early one evening I opened the front door to go to the shop and found someone standing on our doorstep. Suffice to say, she wasn´t selling replacement windows.
