I’m sure lots of people can get excited by the idea in principle, but until there are plans there’s not a lot to be done. Then it needs agreement by the club, and also by the Council as they hold the freehold of the land.
If everyone is in agreement then you can start thinking about how you finance such an initiative and decide to what extent fan involvement is needed. Crowdfunding, bonds and suchlike. The club have indicated it would need to be 100% financed by external (non club) sources.

Sounds like a horse before cart situation with the ‘no plan’ scenario.

This is exactly the case GPC. The plans are completed in principle although at this point there is a lot of intellectual property attached referencing other established and recognisable businesses and companies which obviously needs editing. The artists impression also need to be uploaded to a digital format. Its quite difficult for me to sit on my hands, especially when I read some of the frustrated comments but its only here where I have posted suggestions (badly!) and only to let you all know something positive is being worked on in the background. I am guilty of getting excited, although Evers suggestion is a little back to front, in that the plans are here and in reality were never going to be available until the New Year. From my perspective as a professional in F&B, hotel acquisition and management but also a Cobblers fan every element makes commercial sense to optimise what is an unusual parcel of land (behind the north stand) not available to private investors, and that is the key. As you allude to a majority of this project will need to be public/crowd funded, this is paramount to ensure profits are driven into the club/community and not back into the deep pockets of an individual or consortium. Launching such a visible and exciting entertainment/hospitality/community project off the back of a promotion will make a huge difference, so maybe the timing will be perfect.

Hopefully any plans get the right businesses excited enough to fund it. Steve, it is not being pessimistic to point out you will really struggle to get the interest (and money) from the bottom up to make something big like this happen. You will get lots of enthusiasm (inc local press), interest and prospective customers but making something like this happen needs a lot of work and money. People can bite back all they like but our fanbase isn't the type to instigate big change. It sounds as though it is a separate entity to the football, so if the plan is right I am sure you'll get some outside interest. Good luck and look forward to seeing the plans.

Manwork, could not not just for once, take on board what somebody is proposing, without using an excellent concept as an excuse to slag off the Chairman, you're starting to look quite pathetic.

I look forward with interest to see the added detail for this proposal. As well as speaking for myself I’m sure that most are keen to see what comes through and how it could work for everyone, be it on a business front or an enhanced match day experience. You seem to have been involved in hospitality for many years so should understand the business side well. It will undoubtedly come with challenges but you have my support.

The ones who will look pathetic are the ones who still supported our chairman until the bitter end. I have to say it beats the shît out of me the love in with Thomas and the hatred for the Trust, utterly bizarre.

Is it not possible to generally be supportive of the chairman without loving him and be slightly critical of the Trust without hating them? There seems to be a tendency for extremes in this social media driven instantaneous world. Generally I think we have a good chairman, he's not one to take us to the heights we all want but I'm not sure he has ever claimed to be. I feel he has at times hidden behind all the land issues, council delays etc when he could have progressed the club but equally many would have walked away from the mess they came into. I know he did to some extent when they officially put the club up for sale and sold in secret but they have also kept investing in the squad, topped up the staff's pay during covid, etc. I have contacted him personally on both the good and the bad and he has always replied and been gracious when I have met him in person. I haven't always agreed with him but can at least understand his position. Generally I think we have a Trust who are passionate about the club and want the best for the future of the club and the fans but they have let passion boil over and become 'unprofessional' in some of their correspondence. I feel they have lost their way and have come up with lots of criticism without offering any solutions or being clear what it is they do want, "a stand finished to the highest standards" is very ambiguous. I must admit I haven't contacted the Trust directly and maybe that should be my next step as they may be doing thigs in private. Having said that I don't feel compelled to, and it is sad to see the replies the Trust get on Facebook, Twitter etc that are not positive. They seem to have made great strides both on here and with the tone of the communications but I think they need to do more to get back to truly representing the fan base. I've seen Trust members point to the membership numbers as proof they do... The Labour Party has more than twice the membership of the Conservative party but have had no power for 11 years Happy Wednesday everyone

Also in complete agreement - of the entire fanbase the loudest and most persistent voices are in the minority and by virtue of their intransigence probably not right on what are undoubtably complex matters.

As we all work in tourism and related businesses we are currently busy and spread around SE Asia. A final edit for publication should be available soon after we can all meet up again late January. I have plans to travel back to the UK in February although I'm not looking forward to it.
