Having just seen and read the great ideas being put forward by The new hotel end, it's essential the football club of Northampton keep the ACV from CDNL and let these guys use it in anyway necessary to improve the stadiums capacity, matchday experience and 7 day business plans.
The football club don't have the ACV the Trust do. If they don't make an offer to buy the land with plans (acceptable to the Council) of facilities having community benefit, within the 6 month period the ACV disappears. So if the Trust have invoked the ACV before they had any plans for the land (as Random seems to say) they are even more stupid than you.

Well I keep seeing all these plans and ideas that people want to build on somebody elses land yet not actually seen how it's goiung to be financed or even if they've actually asked permission from the current leaseholder if they can even do it and then you get into 'where does the profits go/ who covers the losses if it's a failure?' the people that paid for it? the people whose land it is built on?

Can't argue with that

You haven't seen anything viable from cdnl/thomas but you don't question their several years of inactivity..Strange that.

...but they're not proposing to build on anybody elses land. You see, that is the difference.

I'm not sure what your suggesting, the land is owned by the council, part of Sixfields stadium. The council have said several times that ground improvements can be made to advance the football club. It's just cdnl/thomas aren't able to so why not allow the new hotel end with help from Northampton and its business community? They would have the great advantage as not being a private enterprise like cdnl just there to advance our towns football club. That is why the ACV mustn't be taken away from Northampton and its football club. We need a lot more than just 'finishing the east stand' Thomas has taken so long doing nothing that the importance of other ground redevelopment has now taken priority.

Retention of the ACV by the football club of Northampton and its public to help enhance its infrastructure, match day experience and 7 day income and not allowing to fall into the hands of CDNL/Thomas/Buckinghams etc, would make a great start. Let's hold on to it.

Sorry mate but I’m not sure what part of the equation you don’t understand- the proposed New Hotel End is interesting but lots of hurdle to jump before realisation- primarily financial backing and appropriate agreement with the land lease owners and the council. The ACV is a completely different issue and indeed from my understanding land footprint- the trust have invoked the clause and have less than 6 months to finance purchase and submit acceptable plans for its use to the council- otherwise the ACV is lost (there is a renewal route but that would require a further 18 month delay and inevitable there would be other players involved in any such applications)

Yes, of course these as well, after 2 decades of being a private land acquiring organisation 1st and football club 2nd, its easy to forget how real community centric clubs operate. Thanks for pointing this out

Why would Buckingham want 4 acres of valuable development opportunity?...Why wouldn't they.. Just my observations but it would make the most money for cdnl to give up this section of Northampton towns ground to Buckinghams to fit out the East
Why do you do this to yourself?

Much better being retained by our football club to be used for 101 things to improve the ground than just handing it over to cdnl/thomas/Buckinghams etc, thus being lost to our club giving zero value to our towns football club. Thomas is fighting hard for this land, so it has to be worth a counter claim for our clubs future benefit. I hate seeing our club being shat on time and time again. Just this once let the ntfc dog have his day

you are aware that you're the only person suggesting handing any land over to Buckinghams, aren't you?

When things start getting deliberately blured, you have to use supposition to try and make sense of the situation. Cdnl announced they are in negotiations with Buckinghams.. Really? Why do Buckinghams want dealings with cdnl or whoever is to blame for several years of allowing the little structure to sit there rotting? There has to be something worthwhile on offer, I just hope it's not great swathes of NTFC's Sixfields stadium .

i think it's probably because they build football stadiums, are based about 15 miles away, started the work already oh and they got asked to and that's how buisness works. Clients come to you and you do the work they ask. buckinghams won't give a fúck that the stand has stood there like that for 8 years. Why would they?
And what will be on offer is the money they pay Buckinghams to do the work.
