I think Melly saw the irony and removed the blah blah. His Aussie humour is complex.

Yeah, day 3 of deliberations.

It would take them six years at this rate to pick the bones out of the Cardoza mess then. They really do need specialist jury's in fraud cases.

From the various reports, direct quotes and information I’ve read, it boils down to whether Macca knew the source of the donations or not. He seems to be trying to throw the secretary under the bus (who is not part of the case) and a low blow (IMO) to cite Jo Cox’s murder as a main reason for jacking in as an MP. The judge said that if Grossman is innocent then Mackintosh must be too. They heard about the links to 1st Land, the sources of the donation and the loan to NTFC, so there may be some joining of the dots. However, it could all be one big innocent mistake but some must be wrestling with their "never trust a Tory" prejudice.

Jeez, they say the longer the deliberation the more likely it's not guilty. Anyone around at the time knows they are as guilty AF and more so. If they get off it's a disgrace

It’s a strange one. Grossman didn’t give evidence (nothing he could really say to help his cause) and not sure what his get out is. If it was above board then he could have purely donated the funds directly himself. I haven’t seen much defence on his behalf. Macca just has deniability that he didn’t know where and why they got the donations from. Maybe a couple of jurors are staunch Tories or hate their day jobs.

Well, that redefines low budget television. For a supposedly impromptu show there was a surprising number of council leaders on hand. The combover at 27 minutes was the most entertaining part for me.

Well I’m a staunch Conservative and Unionist party supporter but I think pretty much what everyone else is thinking on here and if on the jury would vote accordingly.

16.5 hours of deliberation and I'm sure they're still going. I reckon the judge will be taking a majority soon and then we'll be heading for a hung jury. If the lot find them both innocent then (without bias) I'm not sure what's been missed from the reporting of the case. Clearly a lot has been said in the court room across the case.

Clearly all one big innocent misunderstanding. A bit like the missing millions too, I’m sure there’s an innocent explanation.

I've been more interested in Grossman. I would imagine it could be an important test case. There is little doubt (and watertight evidence) that he donated money via proxy (via the 1st Land account) and has been deemed as an innocent action. As for Macca, he always had straight deniability and blamed his secretary for not telling him.
