There's a lot to be said for the “least said, least harm done” adage in this instance. In no way have current owners proved to be as malevolent as quite a few of our previous owners. We have seen modest, but doubtless progress in many areas under their tenure. Yet a few people have developed a less than healthy obsession with them. A lot of it abusive, and on many occasions completely untrue. Perhaps you might want to address that occasionally..

Whilst there could be some similarities to our situation, this is possibly an example attached where the adage "be careful what you wish for" could be applied for those clamouring for new owners for NTFC?

I'm not sure you have comprehended at all what I said. I definitely said he is entitled to an opinion. But I stated that he doesn’t have a right to MOAN. As he isn’t financially impacted, or inconvenienced by any of it. I haven’t disputed with anyone that the owners might leave. In fact I have consistently stated that it would not matter, as long as they complete the East stand, and leave us on an even financial keel.

Another area where you are wrong is regarding the repetition of the debate. There have been distinct shifts in opinion from those who could be termed as anti KT. For years they have stated that if they get the land, that we shouldn’t expect them to complete the East stand. And that we should expect them to sail off into the sunset, as the “land grabbers” they are. I have lost count of the amount of times I have seen contributors mocked for suggesting that the owners will most likely honour their promise. Now they have, the mantra is not an apologetic one. Or even to be contrite. It is derision and mockery in the form of “you wait and see, they will run for it as soon as the East is finished”. Of course he, me, and anyone can be right, if we move the posts until we are. You might have seen some degree of remorse by certain posters for calling the owners liars for many years now about the completion of the East. I obviously missed that.

I know several years back is a long time so will forgive forgetting Thomas appeared on the local TV and press saying he's sold the club and will now be going home to spend more time with family .This was without finishing off anything! So the fact nearly 10 years later he still hasn't...isn't something to give him credit for!
In the clubs time line the stand was due to be finished several years ago and a ground expansion shortly after... Time hasn't stood still, mugging us all off with a long overdue fit out of a tiny embarrassment of a non league stand is shameful.

You and a few others have a disproportionate and unhealthy obsession with a few things that he has said. You will not able to point the finger at one single, owner, manager, or player that does not say things they either regret, or that doesn't transpire. You have spent eons playing fantasy football club owner, with ridiculous imaginary budgets and scenarios, that are quite frankly embarrassing in comparison to the reality. For eight years you have quoted the same price for the extension on the South stand. In the face of a pandemic and a near on 50% increase in materials costs, and a 15% increase in labour costs. In addition to that, you and a small minority have predicted things that will never happen, yet they have. In doing so, you seem to have afforded yourself, and them the luxury of reinventing the line you wish the club to tow. As long as it attacks the owners. Whilst allowing yourself to be devoid of any responsibility for anything you say.

The club has issues. The owners have made mistakes and said things they shouldn't. And possibly it might end badly. But in review of their overall tenure, your level of animosity towards them is so disproportionate, it defies logic. I openly admit that there are things they should have done. And I openly admit that I would love to see them do more. But that could be said of every single supporter, at every single club in the land. But you have to remain realistic, and attached to reality. I would love to see us progress into the championship. But in no way can any expectation that I hold for the club I love, turn into the vitriol that you and few others have for them.

I admire your persistence Hammy but it's far easier just to scroll past Beds posts without reading them. You won't miss anything you haven't read a hundred times before.

A 60+? year old man who should be enjoying the years he has remaining; instead of occupying himself on a messageboard/social media repetitive 'campaign' for which he has little influence and being in a self-imposed 8+ years exile from watching the team that he says that he 'supports'. Sad... Sad

When does their tenure as owners at our mothballed club do think our supporters can demand better?
If it 3 years time, as I suspect we'll have the best service rd and warehouse carparking of all our rival clubs but still no £5.8m non league standard stand finished, do you think it OK then to point it out as being woefully inadequate and demand changes needed?
Or do you allow the usual excuses of world conflict and brexit to afford him another 10 years of mothballing of NTFC?

Just for the record covid 19 hit in 2020 he stated the tiny stand fit out would be finished 2018...So he needs to own any price increase and pay it from his own time wasting pockets.

For a mothballed club I've rather enjoyed the last three seasons. I'm also looking forward to the rebuild of the East Stand.

I can't help remembering that when we invested heavily in the team it was a bit of a disaster.

The latest Trust update is interesting, showing some provisional results from their survey - it’s good they are communicating more effectively and regularly- for that they should be praised.

It’s interesting however that they choose to separate the results between trust and non trust members - those results tending to show trust members to be in more favour of the trust party line than non-trust members. That’s of course to be expected but for me continues the trend to very subtly suggest if you follow their party line you know what you are talking about - if you don’t, you are a little bit less well informed -  surely a supporter is a supporter and there is no need to differentiate between Trust members and others with all views being equally valid

It also shows that a lot of people ignored their survey:

Sixfields stadium infrastructure survey has closed
 The Sixfields infrastructure survey, which initially went out to Trust members and then to all Cobblers fans, has closed.
A total of 519 Cobblers fans took part in the survey, of which 222 were Trust
members. A big thank you to everyone who took the time to take part.
We will publish the outcome next month, as well as drawing out some of the
points raised by Trust members.
With regard to what we would like to see built on the club land behind the East
Stand, 67 per cent of Trust members opted for a development which would
benefit both club and community. 18 per cent chose the retail and car parking
option.  When looking  at  the  responses  from  all Cobblers fans,  these  figures
switched to 54 per cent and 21 per cent respectively.
The current expectation is that a warehouse will be built across the old athletics
track land at Sixfields. This option did not find favour with voters, attracting only 9
per cent support from Trust members and 15 per cent from Cobblers fans more
widely.
Sixfields stand and land deal
 The board has concerns as to how the land sale and the East Stand development will affect car parking capacity on the stadium footprint, in the expectation that
the North Stand car park will eventually be lost. We hope the club can confirm
how many new car parking spaces will go behind the completed East Stand.

Having seen the loaded questions and the now standard orientation of the Trust board I doubt I and many others will give it much credence. Suffice to say that any outcome will only be as good as the survey. So diametrically opposed to the clubs wishes.

Whether or not you agree with the owners direction regarding the land, is pretty much the stopping point. Having passed the relevant scrutiny, and enduring the wasteful endeavours of some, the owners now have (within reason) the only opinion that counts. As it will be their ideas that come to fruition. Am I happy with that? Probably not. But then my version of what should happen will always be tainted by my connection and love for NTFC. If I was asked to look at it from a neutral perspective. I simply couldn't.
