I appreciate that is only a rough benchmark for potential lost ticket sales but I just don’t see where you get £500,000.

Nor will you. Because like most of the figures he and a few others come out with. They can't actually substantiate them.

I have never wanted or expected Thomas to spend a single penny of his/their own money...
But I want NTFC to use that vast £5.8m that belongs to the club to improve the stadium to be able to trade correctly as a L1 club..
10,000 capacity by extending the south by 2500 with the 10 boxes squeezed into the tiny east stand would be great.
But the horses arse that's appearing behind the East is cause for great concern.
We don't need a service rd or warehouse carparking hemming in the stadium.
You do realise once this disaster plays out, NTFC will be looking to build whole new ground to help it get a minimum requirement of 12000 in order to reach the championship.

Its clear to me that you, Melbourne and the others banging the drum for the speculators, have realised we've been properly mugged off and are now too proud to back down...
Enjoy your warehouse service rd, its carparking and maybe the 10 boxes coming in at an eye watering £5,800,000...
Well done you guys .  Grin
If you think anything that gets said on here makes a blind bit of difference you’re even more deluded than I thought, and that’s saying something. “Well done you guys” what a tool.

It’s unlikely these owners will be handing over control of one side of the ground, and given the recent historical issues I don’t blame them.

I upgraded the OS on my phone this morning and it's added a tool to the browser that provides a precis of the Web page it's on.

I thought it might be interesting to point it at the first and last pages of this thread:

First Page (May 2012)

Northampton Town FC stadium redevelopment may finally begin

• Northampton Town FC may finally be set to redevelop its stadium, with job postings suggesting work could soon begin.

• The club has advertised for a 'box office and CRM manager' whose responsibilities will include working with the chairman on how ticketing and stadium entry will operate after redevelopment.

• The club is also looking at implementing an access control system and increasing matchday revenue.

• The redevelopment has been in discussion for many years and has faced numerous delays.

• Fans are cautiously optimistic that the latest announcement signals that work will finally get underway.

Last Page (June 2024)

Northampton Town Football Club Redevelopment Discussion

• Northampton Town Football Club (NTFC) fans are discussing a potential stadium redevelopment.

• Some fans are concerned that the club's owners are not investing enough money in the stadium.

• Others believe that the club should build a new stadium to meet the minimum requirement for the championship.

• The club's owners have not publicly commented on the redevelopment plans.

What do they say?  Plus cą change, plus c'est la même chose.... Grin

At the risk of not being clear, its an absolutely bat s*** crazy f***ing mental shoot yourself in the dick idea to give away teams more fans and help them build a better atmosphere.
Really dont get it. For the sake of a few quid, give them less seats, the stale out of date pies and the dregs in the barrel. Its a football team not a f***ing red carpet black tie event.
If I still sit sound like I am sitting on the fence.... f*** em.

Wimbledon fc spent several seasons playing top flight football at selhurst Park, nearly every game they were outnumbered 2 or 3 to 1...
It was the travelling fans that topped up the coffers to allow them to plsy at that level..
The worst case for us is 3000 traveling v 7500 of ours...
£500,000 = an extra ball wining , goal scoring Midfielder and a decent striker on the books..
That would neutralise Thomas's fears that averaging gates of 8000 plus might be detrimental to our supposedly nervous players.
What do you reckon the players would choose? A dead arsed atmosphere or one that is buzzing?
What kind of ground do supporters hope for trom a match day? Library or raucous noise?

Go away and rethink 😉

I don’t disagree that I’d like to see the South stand have an increased capacity but that figure is absolutely ridiculous!
Looking at average away followings last year 5 teams averaged over 1,200
Reading 1,278
Wigan 1,325
Bolton 1,528
Portsmouth 1,554
Derby 2,265
I appreciate that is only a rough benchmark for potential lost ticket sales but I just don’t see where you get £500,000
Try looking at average away followings of 100 miles or less from their home bases...try it now ..See, it looks different especially if the destination has a good 'away end' in an attractive area, that's attractive to visiting supporters as they pick and choose based on enjoyment.

Also a larger away end say 2500, would free up 400 more home tickets..So put that in the equation.

Then when you consider a more professional ground with better atmosphere should attract 25% more in general..
£500,000 is looking conservative.

Thought about it.... Answer to both of your questions is "one that doesn't feel like the away team is the home team!

If Wimbledon (the original) is your only justification I think its time for you to go away and rethink.

There’s a lot going on behind the stand but the stand I’m not sure had been touched, last time I looked.

LOL

So they didn;t need an access road to deliver and build the shell but they need one now to deliver plasterboard and paint

what services exactly are you talking about?

There was full services in the old bit of the East stand, how is clearly the 'sold" running track area etc, working on the East stand itself?

As someone who doesn't believe or trust a word KT says, this is still playing out EXACTLY as i said it would.

Two months since they got the land deal and big announcement of working start and nothing inside the stand  - assume many of you will just keep looking the other way and none of you will put a date on when you will start being worried

Again not worried about losing another acre of running track land as KT / DB takes the piss out of the clap happy, ooh KT smiled at me, delusional fans who think NTFC are moving forward and are in safe hands.

Still hoping to build bridges with the owners I see  Roll Eyes

KT stated the East Stand will be finished late March 2025, until then pipe the fvck down!

In the meantime, keep publishing your irrelevant survey results/wish lists, with no actual clarity as to who's going to pay for all these stadium improvements...

Can't see anyone with an ounce of sense giving a penny to the current poisonous trust board

And this comes from the man who claims that you build the roads, after the housing estate is complete.  Grin
