I think he's referring to the meagre gain in seats.
Overall, without apportioning blame, it's hard to disagree with his sentiment.

You can suggest anything when you're not running it, or paying for it. All of us have an opinion on who we should buy, what we should build, and what we would like. But common sense should dictate the degree of criticism. We are not talking about innocent bystanders here. They wanted their fingers in the pie, don't forget. And to quote.. "For what and for whom".

“They wanted their fingers in the pie”

The key point to ALL of their nonsense. It is where it all stems from.

I've no opinion whatsoever on who we should buy, I wouldn't pretend to have a scooby on that account I'm afraid, but I will judge them when they represent the club.
Regards his comment about the limited increase in seats, I think he has the right to remain disappointed if that's how he sees it. It doesn't read like he's blaming the current lot to me?

Mine is more of a philosophical point. At what stage does everyone feel satisfied. Or do you just accept that there is no point in trying to please some people. As I have said before. Their disappoint only extends to tapping on a keyboard. If you actually look at what they bring to any constructive debate, and boil it down. It wouldn't fill a teaspoon.

As I alluded to, some could have lobbied the council and insisted on a minimum acceptable increase in capacity as part of the land deal? Just an idea.

To my untrained eye, it looks like a building site... Wink

Very impressive conclusion to arrive at for an amateur, you’re a natural.

Bit tired of these protestations around the design and timelines of the stand. Often it was stated directly to them that instead of continuing on the chosen path, the main protagonists would have been better placed to lobby for the minimum standards of design specifications regarding the stand. It was suggested solicitations and/or demands could have been directed at the club and/or council to be specified as part of any land deal. However, not once during the process was any of this given any meaningful attention until the 12th hour. The decision to embark on alternative strategies was made, and that proved spectacularly unsuccessful. The alternative could and should have been initiated years ago. Ultimately despite the endless warnings, the wrong strategy was chosen, and the net result is no influence over the design by those who now choose to complain. But it’s not like they didn’t have or weren't given the opportunity to consider the other options. At the end of the day it wouldn’t have been any more futile that what eventually transpired and who knows, some of any shortcomings may have been addressed in part or full. Unfortunately for the misanthropes, they well and truly burnt the bridge with the relevant parties, and it’s way too late to insist on anything now.

To be honest I think that train left the station some time ago - and even with a less bitter vision these individuals  embarking on a more positive campaign would be, as you say too late - firstly and most importantly, the die was cast when the £10+ million went missing and the shambles of a shell guising as the East Stand was built - KT said from the get go that demolishing and starting again was not practical via their financial means so any input on specification was always going to be limited  - secondly and obviously the absence of any relationship (cue the normal blame on whose fault it is) means any suggestions would get little more than lip service act best.

People will always down play anything if they don't agree, Don't think the Club said they would increase the capacity by any great amount, more just get the hospitality side up and running.
Even so the small increase of approximately 400 seats gets talked down to 200 by some just to so they can put down the owners  with every last breath they have.

Tom Reed sharing his positivity on X... Roll Eyes

Hard to get excited about the stand Jake, feels like a massive missed opportunity overall, which, of course goes back to the previous owners. Adding under 200 seats + some restricted view seats in 2024 is frustrating .

Luton put their boxes in Kenilworth Road in 1986 and are now moving on to Power Court. When you look at the plans at Cambridge and Oxford it's hard to see how Cobblers will keep pace. The gains for everyday fans seem modest and no movement with safe standing etc.

I understand that many fans are happy with the East Stand works fwiw and fair play for Thomas for showing what is going on with the ground works, which were few and far between in the original East Stand redevelopment.
Actually don't disagree with a lot of that. It is a missed opportunity but not one by the current owner. This fasciation with other clubs 'plans' baffles me though. We had sexy plans 15 years ago and look what happened  Grin

I’ll be honest, I’m still a bit distraught we didn’t get that portakabin tagged onto the West Stand.

Not as sexy as Luton's. They were going to have a Grand Prix track and some link up with an American football team and rebrand Luton Airport. Capacity about 80,000 if memory serves me well.

Oxford have been on the move for at least 20 years as well.

Their redevelopment threads must both drawf ours  Grin

Sun alliance house if I recall correctly. There was a certain employee of David Cardozas there, lauding them up. Alongside a model of what was never to be. I shan't mention any names, that would be cruel. But suffice to say he is a staunch supporter of the Trust (oh the irony). A proper St Jude.. 😂😂

Looking at one of the Bristol Rovers forum posts, its about redevelopment of their East stand. It has a mighty 42 pages and 120 000 views
Puts in perspective this thread. 2253 pages and at the time of writing 1 894 416 views.

Is there anything left unsaid? Just asking for a friend.
