Say what you like about the owners, they are not messing around now the relentless obstructions are out of the way. If they manage to provide long term revenue for the club from this development, which they are under no obligation to do, then they really will turn out to be a fantastic example of how to run a football club. Given the challenges involved in doing that at this point in the game’s history, it will be a truly remarkable achievement and a considerable act of commitment and generosity in the face of some appalling treatment, who’d have thunk it. If it were me in their shoes, I’d take the money, stick 2 fingers up and be on my way.
So, they could just sell the land and run for the airport like some predicted, how fúcking inappropriate that now seems to be, along with the other countless accusations and suspicions that turned out to be utter bollocks. Let’s be honest, some Neolithically challenged intellectuals dwelling in the primal soup are still at it. No acquiescence, no apology, no accountability, no contrition, nothing except unashamed attempts to suppress and/or ridicule the opinion of anyone who dares to object, it’s an absolute disgrace. There is nothing worse than ridiculously self entitled individuals of limited ability, engineering themselves a smidgin of power and the opportunity to fúck things up, continually involving themselves in something that matters to people. Particularly when they have been proven time and again to get things so badly wrong. What a shame that happened to us, and possibly still is.

What a bizarre statement, it’s raised the capacity by 400 seats, what’s the context to that comment?
Unfortunately no one committed to identifying what constituted a completed stand, they were far too busy saying it wouldn’t happen and trying to convince everyone that was the case. Either that or they were too busy making alternative plans for the club. If only they had sought to do exactly like some suggested, they may have got something more to their liking. Mind you, in the event they had, and had been appeased by being given some of what they had requested they would be in no position to criticise or attack the owners, so realistically it was never going to happen. So in my book the context is that no one is in any position to criticise anything, because in the preceding 10 years nobody actually specified and gained support for what constituted a minimum standard of completion. That is despite being afforded countless opportunities to do so, so tough shít.

I referred to it as over Polished and non league and £5.8m very poorly used.., this is evident by just looking at it..Non league at its finest, would serve Kettering town or Brackley but not a football club with an exclusive catchment representative of over 300,000 people... I read in the Chron, they're looking at next stage...The warehouse, it'll be a lot bigger than the tiny stand that's for sure.. Let's hope the Council look out for the interest of Northampton and it's football club as opposed to those who own it in the name of ntfc...Massive difference that isn't recognised on here.
I see you’re still insisting we have an exclusive catchment area of 300,000. That’s like saying nobody would choose to drink any other beer except Carlsberg because it’s in Northamptonshire. You don’t help yourself do you?

Welcome to the modern world where social media, algorithms and a lack of critical thinking mean people can just spurt out any ridiculous nonsense. I guess we should just be happy hardly anyone jumped on the bandwagon and we didn’t end up with another unsurprisingly over promised, under delivered Brexit situation!.

Critical thinking is key, not just believing the lies from the left wing woke media, couldn’t agree more with an under delivered Brexit by the way, such a missed opportunity.

Or the promises of Farage et al were always a complete fallacy and it was destined to end badly, but that’s a debate for another thread.

Did anyone use the east stand concourse today what was it like
I’ve seen a Vlog on FB. It looks quite narrow and dark but I’m comparing to the West Stand which benefits from the windows. But it’s such an added improvement for those over there with a small shop kiosk and food/drink kiosks including beers for the first time over there. The main thing I noticed was the much reduced queues at the North East corner kiosk which will make for a better matchday experience and increase sales.

I had a wander through when I’d done eating upstairs. It defo needs some thing to lift the grey walls. I’m making a FAB suggestion here Nigel. I’ve got a carrier bag full of genuine 1960s newspapers which chronicle our seasons charging to the top and some from the 80s and 90s successes. The papers were left for me by my late season ticket holding grandma when she passed in 1990. Can we get this in as a framed suggestion to give the internals a little history and interesting reading please? We just need a frame donation from somewhere. Cheers Nige!

I used it and it was quite good, the service was pretty quick both before the game and at half time, yes the interior could do with a bit of sprucing up but I am sure that will happen during the summer. The tannoy system was a bit too loud and had a bit of an echo on the concourse but again once the walls have been given a finish and cleaned up I think it will be good. It was great to be able to get out of the sun into the concourse at half time and cool down. No real queues for the toilets was very welcome as well.

We sat in the East Stand on Saturday and were impressed by the facilities on offer in the concourse. There weren't any queues for the toilets, the wait for food /drink and the shop were also ok.
agree that it does need brightening up with some pictures/photos as mentioned and a WiFi connection with just a tick box accepting T&C rather than needing a password would be good too.

I imagine the East stand would get very warm very quickly when the sun's shining on it.

I had never sat in the old east stand but can compare this to the west stand. Took my young cousin to his first game. Felt like the queues for all things moved far quicker, could well be because of less bodies but in general felt positive. There was a little club shop in there which makes sense, worked for me anyways as picked up a top for my cousin. Inside it is pretty drab, does not benefit from the windows that the west do. As others have mentioned would be good to make it a bit more aesthetically appealing at some point. Lots of red faces from the sun, it gets toasty over there sat in the sun.
I will say the viewing platform for our disabled fans looked excellent and is such a huge improvement, delighted for those that benefit from this. The sound travels quite well from the other stands but neither was particularly loud it seemed until the end of the game. I could not really here the tannoy very well, not sure if that was just me. Perhaps as its the family stand would benefit from getting some more things aimed at them. Could we not sell Clarence Teddies, sweets over there? We may well do, just didnt see it going on.
Overall it seemed fine. I will still return to the west when on my own but its clearly a huge upgrade and no doubts the views from the boxes would be great.

The tannoy was fine in the concourse but wasn't working in the stand itself.

It sounds muffled and difficult to make out what was being said.

Same as the West, the speakers are facing the wrong way, seriously you can’t make this stuff up.
