On a serious note I am always fascinated by debates such as this. Whilst I am not religious myself, I am sure there are plenty of religious people out there who would treat people equally and fairly irrespective of sexual orientation or anything else? Are people that tar those of religion with the same brush somewhat guilty of bigotry themselves? Can’t have it all ways, you either treat people equally and fairly or you don’t? Patronising lecture over!

Just read the write up, I’m not watching that, it’ll wind me right up. I thought they were like those muppets Sasha Baron Cohen wound up in Bruno, I had no idea about this dark side?

This sort of thing is common in the American Bible Belt. Apparently you can be cured from being different.

Fear not, Patt some of these religious types are right, homosexuality can now successfully be “cured”. All you need to do is force yourself to go out with Beds for a month and it will put you off blokes for life.
Cured or bored to death?

As a "gay" all I would say is I wish I had had lessons on homosexuality when I was at school. It would have saved a lot of hurt, anxiety and grief in my life...and I wonder how many religious followers have not been able to have a happy and fulfilled life due to fear of some made up deity or indeed their parents fear of said deity.
ps the abbreviation at the top of the thread is incorrect.
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, Questioning, and Allies
We just had a workshop on this and was presented that the 'Q' stands for 'Queer', with a different context to the old derogatory term. A quick google search states queer or questioning. Replace religion with environmental and sustainability education. I'm convinced kids will look back in 30 years time and the world will be very different, food being one area that is very quickly changing. We'll all be on a plant based diet!
