There is no such thing as luck. Playing all over the place and rarely getting injured isn't down to luck.
What is it then if not luck? - right place right time = luck

I hate to be pedantic but if there is no such thing as luck then nothing is down to luck.

That is what I mean. It isn't down to luck as there is no such thing. What is it then if not luck? - right place right time = luck
Coincidence. A remarkable concurrence of events or circumstances without apparent causal connection. Luck isn't a thing. The only people that believe in it are the sort of crac kpots also believe in other myths like fairies, yetis, Gods and midgets.

How about Hereford (a) hitting the bar in a tense end of season relegation battle back in 2013. I always thought that was a slice of luck as did many of us that day. ps I don't believe in Fairies , yeti's etc.

That was an off-target shot.
or the bar was in the right place at the right time. - bit unlucky for Hereford though! Anyway have now eradicated "luck" from my thoughts

The Science of Soccer by John Wesson basically suggests around 79% of a football match is down to luck

Why the vitriol aimed now at Sammo? - for God's sake he was a relatively inexperience manager who was given a fraction of the playing budget those that followed him were afforded.
Far from perfect but learning his trade and his results whilst not remarkable were by no means the worst of recent times - as a man, his integrity, discipline & man management was significantly better than all who came after him.
God post Sir, He stopped the rot and I think he would have made a good manager, the problem is that Chairman, fans, are to quick to condem and will not give managers the time to stamp ther wishes on to the team. Promotion was the requirment and Sampson was not given a long enough time and just look what followed him. Now we have Mr, Wilder, the Chairman say's ''he is here for the long term'' You couldn't make it up!

I don't remember the fans calling for Sammo to be sacked, as I recall it was a bit of a shock when it happened.

Sammo was hard done by. I don't remember too many dissenting voices as we beat Liverpool, Crewe and went however many games it was unbeaten that time. I do seem to remember marvo strongly suggesting the case for a new manager, while maybe not coming straight out with it ( in order to cover himself later) there was a definite agenda to his posts at the time

Didn't he sign Shaun Harrod for a six figure fee?

He signed Shaun Harrod but it was nowhere near a six figure fee. It was nearer to a free than six figures

It's a difficult one. A very short time ago it looked for the world like Wilder was on his way out, indeed had he been at almost any other club with his record at the time, 2 wins, 1 draw and 12 defeats he'd have been gone. Cardoza stuck by him and has been proven to be right but it's a fine balancing act. IN MY OPINION, he kept hold of Boothroyd too long. People were calling for Johnson to go but it still surprised me when he did and like I said the departure of Sammo was a bit of a shock.
In hindsight and taking into account what has happened since, Sammo could hardly have done much worse. However that wasn't the plan when he was sacked, the record and reputation of those that followed were supposed to see this club up and away into at least league 1, their failure makes it seem like we would have (might have) been better sticking with Sammo but in all honesty I still believe that the best we could have hoped for with him was to tread water. The sacking at the time was probably right and made for good intentions but like the saying goes, “Hell is paved with good intentions.”

I think hell is supposed to be more fire and brimstone, though the road there may be paved with good intentions. Pretty sure I'm 100% correct on this saying. Wanted to be sure you had no room for manoeuvre on this before posting! Hehe
