I'm not pointing the finger solely at you. Although "if the cap fits". And far from taking it seriously I am stating that far too many on here pontificate about how catastrophic it will be if we don't recruit this player, or that player without any true appraisal of the situation. In fact quite the polar opposite of what you are suggesting. A cautionary note about not getting too far ahead of the game before we have even started the season. Which suggests a more relaxed attitude by far on my behalf.
As for merely discussing things. I suggest you take a minute off from smiling inanely and read back through the thread at the amount of so called "fact based" statement that have been made. You might then see why a voice of reason is needed sometimes.

I like Boothroyd. He's proved an astute tactician, an excellent man manager and a shrewd and articulate media operator. He's done an extremely impressive job so far and he has my 100% support.
You should have stopped there Mr Bungle - as too much verbosity gives one too much "self justified importance". Our Terry is right too many "I know best " opinions at the moment!

If Hoganson got a chance to play at Derby instead of here, he'd be loopy not to take it. It however the Derby chance is less than certain, he'd be a nutcase not to take a certain offer here.

Says in the weekly chronic that we are not now interested and are moving on. In fairness it seemed more like he wasn't interested. Anyway we could do with more wingers

If Hoganson or any other player doesn't want to come here and wear that claret shirt with pride, then I don't want him here. We've had far too many meal tickets and no hopers at this club over the past few years. Let's have a lad like Dean Snedker in goal, and a Lewis Hornby in mid, local lads who have some loyalty and fire in their bellies.

Whilst I agree with the first part, the downside of the second part of the above would very soon leave us playing at local level.

Why? Our better players over the last several years have been local: Dunn, Chambers, Jacobs, Morrison, and before that McGoldrick etc. The fact that many promising youngsters are playing their football at Villa, Leicetster and now MK Dons is the failing of the club. At Mawsley, nearly all the youngsters there are with Leicester (plus Villa and West BRom). with only one having a tie to the CObblers. Let's not forget that the county's population is nearly 700,000 and we should be largely unopposed when it comes to youth recruitment.

Suprised to see you say that , Kev.I think it confirms my thoughts on another thread that in general our supporters expectations have plummetted. I personally agree with the idea of a couple of young local lads being regulars on the bench but we've seen how impatient our fans can be with youngsters if they aren't playing like Michael Jacobs week in week out.

Unfortunately that doesn't mean that the youth players you mentioned are currently good enough to be L2 regulars. I totally agree that the club needs to attract more of these youngsters heading off elsewhere though.

Youth team players are important, but you can't build a side around them. We only started looking solid last season when AB added the experience of Gutts, Harding and Carlisle. Hoganson is a side issue: a 'bonus' player with undoubted potential who would be unlikely to be first choice at either left back or left wing. People are lapsing into doom and gloom, but I honestly think we're only two key signings from being a very decent team at this level.
