Looking at the draw I can't see many stand out matches so you never know might get shown on Sky?

So

2 years ago we beat Liverpool and played at Ipswich next. Liverpool haven't lost since then in the cup and beat Cardiff, who were next beaten in the cup by us. last year we played Ipswich and then Wolves who we now play again. It's like some mad conspiracy theory!

But will this be picked up by the mad conspirists to encourage SKY to broadcast us live?

Based on this then, Ipswich should win the cup this year.

£10 one off for the Wolves game could attract a near full house especially during school holiday time? Thats a challenge for the club.
Speculate to accumulate?  Wink

Despite what people claim it will be a virtually identical crowd no matter how much it costs to get in. It's not about the money but the time. If you think you will enjoy the 2-3 hours then you wont care if it's £10 or £20. If you don't think you will enjoy it you wont go even if it's free. Wycombe did £5 for adults and kids for free a few years ago for a cup game. They got less than 1,000 and never tried it again.

If the club tried it once and it was not successful, at least it would give one less thing to moan about on here for next season!  Grin

Well, I remember they charged £10 and free for season ticket holders at that rearranged Millwall game and got less than the original match with the full charge.

exactly the reason why alot of people didnt come last night, was down to the fact they werent willing to pay £20 for a cup game !!

Don't bother then I say.... I enjoyed it watching a championship team get humbled for £1 more than it was to watch Hereford last season.

I don't get why people keep whining.... it's good value.
Compare it to F1 .... compare it to the Prem....

The club will do what they feel right to do given all the calculations they will no doubt have made based on uplift in numbers vs reduction in ticket prices.....

If you don't like the price don't go.... I never travel club class on BA....

£20 vs Cardiff City
£20 vs Wolves
£20 vs Barnet
£20 vs Dag & Red

£20 for cup and league football this year, stop moaning .. want to do something about it?! Contact the club

Maybe the club should let us all in for free eh, then people can moan because we have to cut back on players or we don't splash the cash on signing on fees etc.... Grin Grin Grin

...compare it to the Bundesliga where you can watch a top tier game for a tenner. It's not good value, it's simply because football fans are mugs who pay out of loyalty more than enjoyment.

What an idotic post. Compare a League Cup first round match to formula one...Yeah right. And you can go and see Villa in the prem for £25 so that argument doesnt stack up. The fact is that £20 for a League Cup round 1 game was too expensive and many a floating fan would have no doubt chosen to save the money and have a day out for the Rochdale game instead

Probably one of the reasons why the Champions league final is back at Wembley this season, for the second time in three years, is that UEFA know that they can get away with charging far more for tickets in this country, than anywhere else.
20 quid was excessive for a first round cup game, which is why i chose not to go.
How does the price of F1 in this country compare to others in Europe then Doggieplops? Just wondering `cos i dont go to that either.

For what it's worth I tend to agree with you on £20 being too much in the circumstances. A full strength Cardiff City would be worth watching and I would very happily pay for that.

On a side point I wonder if the club thought that perhaps a few more people might have been encouraged to buy a season ticket and thereby gain the right to a £15 ticket for the cup game that way. Marketing is a strange science because human beings often act irrationally.

The same ticket prices as for Cardiff.

I'd be surprised if Sky don't ask CC to be one of their commenters for the night.

Great news for the club.
