I had this as a loss on my way to Alsershot so would have easily taken a draw. Not only the Cobblers fans that were robbed, the pesky meerkay in the chron had selected a Cobblers win so i bet its gutted Still the Chron Pundit had us to lose so the meerkat is still 3 up.

I think Tim Flowers is on Radio 5 Live summarising the Southampton vs Rochdale game.
Shouldn't he be with our squad?
I wondered why he wasnt warming up with Dunn and Jannsen - Walker was standing in

Browsing through the Aldershot programme I was initially worried that something had gone on without my knowledge as it displayed the Manager Ian Sampson but with a picture of the Oxford manager.

I wondered why he wasnt warming up with Dunn and Jannsen - Walker was standing in I listened to some of that commentary and when randomly they happenend to mention some other scores and that Northampton were currently 1-0 up and that Ian Sampson would be happily relieved given the 4-0 midweek horror show, unbeknown to the commentator, Tim Flowers replied with something along the lines of "yeah i know how bad it was because i was there!" "I work part-time at northampton coaching the keepers!"

They had Oxford midweek and clearly forgot to update the template for Saturday's programme.

Before I have a litte moan, I do have to agree that the performance on Saturday was proberly the best we have given in the league so far and that given all the hard work and commitmant that every player produced it was simply gutting to consider in that manner.
But I can't quite beleive people are saying Rodgers had a good game. He worked hard and did a decent job on the defensive side, I will give him that. But in the first half, when we were the better team, I literally lost count of the number of times he had the ball in good positions only to fail to find a cross of anysort of quality. It got to the stage where if he hit the defender and it went out for a throw, that was a good result. As we are a team hardly full of goals at the moment, it is imperative that when we get into decent positions, the ball gets put into the box. I'm not expecting a Beckham like cross onto somebody's head 100% of the time, but when you have 6 or 7 opportunites to cross the ball and not one makes into into the "danger area" that is just not good enough.
I would usually like to criticise Guinan as well, but I thought he had an okay game. But if running onto one long ball and having a shot saved is a good game for someone, then I think that tells you all you need to know about him.
I thought the defence were excellent, despite Morgan causing problems, plenty of commited tackles and blocks kept shots on goal to a minimum until late on. Davis I thought was superb, looked decent going forward and did his defensive work/covering much better than I expected. Centre midfield also had a very decent game and those two are turning into a very decent midfield partnership, whilst jacobs didn't have his best game, but his ability to run at a player meant he was still a danger everytime he got the ball (unlike Rodgers).

He did a little more than that but I pretty much agree with your post woodster. Bit harsh on Roy though...

More than a bit harsh.
Okay, maybe I was frustrated to see him playing devoid of any quality and Thornton on the bench and thus, was going to pick out the negatives of his paly. But I did say he tracked back well and worked hard. You can't seriously be telling me though you were impressed with him going forward. He not once tested his man like Jacobs did on the other wing (that despite many people saying Jacobs didn't play all that well). And I have said all I have to say about his crossing, it was dire, if im being very kind.

For me the jury is still out on whether Rodgers is a footballer. Sure he's lightning quick but I don't think he can actually trap a ball.

Never mind Aldershot fans, just let them celebrate their famous equaliser. I'm surprised they didn't flood the pitch at the end of the game as it clearly means so much to them to scrape a draw with an out-of-form Northampton.

To be honest you completely outplayed us in the first half and with a fully fit squad your obviosly a very dangerous team that should be up there or thereabouts at the end of the season, the difference between a loss and a draw at the end of the season against a team who should be challenging could be very important

He does have a point(excuse the pun) considering our relegation margin from league 1 was just a point.

To the smug Aldershot fan who thanked the Cobblers fans for throwing the ball wide near the end of the game...and to the rest of the Oh so gobby Shots fans...it was one of YOUR stewards that threw it...I know..I was standing 2ft away! PS..why is the relevant thread blocked?
