OK chaps...
Who has done Burton before without driving?
Are we looking at a reasonable pub crawl to the ground for the train station?
Any recommendations? (With respect Rob mate, I'm not bothered about old man real ale boozers... if you know of any buzzing bars that serve a decent world lager  I'd be more than happy )   Grin ....

Really looking fwd to this one, it's been a while since we had a Leo Sayer on a Saturday so close to home.... I just hope the lads bring home the bacon to round it off.

Its quite a trek from the station to the ground, but I seem to remember a few pubs around the station and one or two on the long straight road to the ground. Its about half an hours walk if I remember correctly, or two hours staggering if you have a few too many!!

... Otherwise, Coopers Tavern and Devonshire Arms just right from station are excellent. Last tim I was there, Devonshire was buzzing with Cobblers fans...laid five taxis on for us!  Wink

Burton is famous for its breweries and the local team are nicknamed the brewers it is an ideal opportunity to sample to local ales. I'm not going due to a family illness but if I was I would be sampling as many local ales as possible  Wink

I know, I used to manage the WDB account and the Coors/Bass businesess there. I just don't like real ale... I think it tastes of sick  Grin

Much prefer an ice cold Peroni... it always make me laugh when (not you by the way) some real ale drinkers think of lager drinkers as lesser humans.
It's a bit like dismissing someone for preferring ketchup on their pie instead of brown sauce.... Grin

To be fair, it isn't a drink I would commonly associate with the younger male audience!

Probably you wouldn't...that's the wonders of being adult though isn't it!

Burton conceded in the 90th minute to Bradford in the cup...so the fitness or morale..or both is certain to take a dent somewhere in the next half an hour or so!  Cheesy

On the Chron website I see AB is considering Hackett or Demontognac as central midfielders for this game. If Ishy gets it I fear the result. Perhaps I,ve missed something but I can't see him getting stuck in - Davies without the goals.

I wouldnt mind if we played a midfield 5 of nicholls wide left. tozer-guttz-ishmael central and hackett wide right. Bayo up top.

I think with his dribbling ability he could be a good outlet for us personally. I can see him going on a real goalscoring run soon.... i hope!

This is one of the easiest away games to go to by car via the A50, with quality pubs to visit, hence the increasing numbers each year. Good weather, good pubs and 3 points?!?...sorted.

It would be nice to walk away from a game against them, without an enormous feeling of injustice....

I would be surpised if anyone felt that after our last game against them.

But how they have got results against us at home the last two years I'll never know.

Anyone know Train times and of any promotions on offer?
I Remember changing at Tamworth last time and having time for a pint in a nearby pub. Should be a good day especially knowing Dunn wont be in goal this time!
