Some investment has been needed for a long time but isn't forthcoming.
Does anyone have any reason to think the board will invest.
In a nutshell in the last couple of weeks Barnet who survive on lower gates than us have made the permanent signings of Collins John and Edgar davids to add quality and momentum to their season.
Northampton have signed mukendi east roofe and huws none of which I'd ever heard of and none had experience.
I don't suspect for a minute Collins John and Edgar David's cost less than our youth players!!!
Result 4-0 to Barnet.
How I eagerly await our next low profile signing Roll Eyes

Good job it's only a game....... Evil

Why can't this place ever react normally to any game. Dreadful result, effortless performance (and I'm not using that in the sense that it's normally used), but last game people were taking about Huws taking us to the next level, and how we were going to go on a run that would lead us back to the next division, etc etc. We'll probably win next game and then automatic promotion will be back on in some peoples eyes.

We've got a small squad, which was probably originally good enough to have us around mid-table to playoffs with some good organisation, and it's suffering an injury crisis. We played a team revitalised by an actual footballing legend joining them in the 4th division of English football, and we didn't turn up at all.

I would like to see five losses on the trot before we embark on self-destructive panic mode please, not one.

I can see it others can't.
We get in cheap youth loans
We have a paper thin squad of Northampton players.
We will get a few ****ings and will win enough to stay up.
We can't go up as we haven't got 11 players contacted as Northampton players who are good enough and we cannot purchase the quality to improve long term.
That was surely obvious weeks ago.
If we stay up I'm happy.
I used to hope for promotion but looking at the way the team is now structured I'm happy to stave off relegation.
Nothing has changed this season and nothing will change.
DC will keep us up.
He is unable financially to get us promoted.
That has been my opinion for five years and I dare say it will be in a further five.

You're not the only one who thinks that.......still in the minority mind you! But imo you're right....we've had a steady stream of players (Bunn, Dunn, Jacobs, Johnson etc) and failed to replace them adequately using the money we made.
Look at the team now....where's the next saleable asset? Right, there isn't one! The chairman said we'd not go down the overload with loanees road again.....ffs its still only October and look at us!
Nothing done to the stadium, nothing done to improve the matchday experience and nothing done to the playing squad......how long does sentiment last these days??? 9 years or so?

Pretty sure Collins John didn't play tonight and is generally regarded as a fat mess by Barnet fans

I'm not sure about the merits of lifts but it would be interesting to hear people's opinions on the merits of signing two top class players as opposed to four youth team players that I'd never heard of.
For what it's worth I think a bit of quality and leadership outweighs inexperience every time.
People are also more likely to want to pay to watch Edgar David's than kemar roofe.
The fact is casual fans in Northampton may have heard of ex international and champions league winner edgar Davids but may not be enticed to sixfields in the anticipation of watching players they have never heard of.

Give it a rest Shoey. Because otherwise people may accuse you of starting to sound boring.

Davids is playing for free at the moment. Has been coaching in Brixton free of charge as well.

On that basis then we should sign Francis Jeffers because he has played for England? Malcolm Christie anyone?
Once half of our squad return from injury we will be fine.Relax

The point I am making is being missed by many.
Last year the chairman said in an interview that lessons would be learned as regards the reliance on untried loans.
He also said this in a face to face meeting with myself.
This year we have again gone down the same route except we have started with a smaller contracted squad.
They are the facts of the matter.
What is depressing is the fact that you can be told one thing by the people who ultimately as fans you place your faith and cash in only to be at best misinformed maybe misled or at worst downright lied too.
Now I'm sure il be hauled in the bollocking room by the club again by expressing this opinion but if they or anyone else can tell me I'm wrong then please do.
You can't have people at the top saying one thing and doing another.
It leads to a breakdown in trust between club and fans and sends out a very bad message.
I think now would be a very good time for DC to do another webchat so he can explain why this is the case, why incoming fees have not been reinvested, why no money is spent on the ground, what is going on with the statement on the redevelopment and plans for catering etc.
I'm sure many will harp on about meeting him again but surely people must agree that a webchat would be good to clear up these issues.

No point, because you will not listen.
You just go on, and on, and on.  Give it a break.

I'm sorry I was merely pointing out that other posters have asked questions regards redevelopment, policy, catering to name a few.
I've merely suggested a webchat wouldn't be a bad idea.
As regards going on.
A comment was made in interview stating that we would no longer rely on the loan system of untried players.
That is a fact.
This season we are relying on untried loan players.
Am I the only poster on this forum who is willing to pick up on this and show that the original statement has been backtracked.
If no other poster is concerned by this u turn and everyone is happy for things to go on like this then it is no wonder things are not improving.
I think I raise a very fair point here and others sit back and deride it.
I've said it before the apathy of many fans is a secondary reason why we are not progressing as a club and this is yet another example of it.
Many are just as quick to moan but very slow in trying to get answers.
