Although obviously he has/will bring publicity to Barnet, along with bums on seats, playing wise i think he will struggle. He will be playing with terrible players (you dont get 3 points from 12 games in this league for no reason). But most of all his legs will not be able to do now what they could previously, in the centre of midfield i can see youth such as tozer and huws just breezing past him. Which will be a shame for such a legendary player!

I think you are right about him struggling to keep pace with the game at his age but he won't be expected to play 90 minutes. If he gets a half chance around the edge of the box it doesn't matter how old he is he'll still know how to knock it in. And you just know if it's going to happen to anyone it's going to be us

Ridiculously OTT article by Lake in the paper today. He even states: "They are there for the taking and this Northampton team, which is starting to build some form and momentum, will take them." Really will look like an ass if we lose. Not sure that one league win and a victory over Colchester's stiffs can be called form and momentum.

It's the sort of form Barnet would kill for ATM.

I remember Rob Lee playing for Wycombe a few years back, he didn't run around much but his positioning, passing and distribution were sublime. Davids could be the same.

I agree that Jefferson's article is a bit OTT. However if we have any aspirations of pushing for play-offs, we have to be beating what is a TERRIBLE barnet team fairly comfortably. I dont expect a huge win, but it would be nice to see us give someone a good tonking at some stage. Biggest wins i can remember last few years were 3-0 against exeter last week, and i believe the same scoreline against aldershot at home last year? Cant remember the last time we scored 4?

We beat Accrington Stanley 4-0 at home, 2nd Feb 2010. Think that was the last one?

We scored 6 against Crewe the season before last. We also put 4 past Accrington and 5 past Crewe the season before that.

If you want to advise caution against a team that hasn't won all season we may as well give up now

AND how many years is it that we have not been completed outplayed by Barnet at Underhill? Normally lose about 4-1 except last year when they still ouplayed us, AND yes they have always been near the bottom so no different now.

This is a really strange game, in regards to how our season will look at the end of play tonight, a win, which I expect us to do comfortably, and we will all be looking to get at the top 3 and automatic promotion. Should we lose however we will enter into a relegation dog fight! Cobblers by 2.
