There's plenty of players in the game today who are the thin skinned senstive types who need to be feel loved and wanted to keep them happy.

I seem to remember a certain Simon Cox who came to us with a reputaion as a workhorse with no end product. just looked at his record when he came he had scored 0 in 15 games

Of course there's always the unlikely possibility that the budget option can pay off, but invariably it's a case of buy cheap and you buy twice.

The Only way is up !! - for the lad King (as Yazz used to sing!! ) - Zero to Hero come 5pm!
If he is a young King is he a prince or a pretender?

My Leicester supporting mate reckons he's a real workhorse with a never say die attitude, but not a natural finisher. A bit like Neil Grayson I suppose.
Sounds like Kenny Deuchar then, who was quite well received here. As long as he gives his all he'll get my support, nothing worse than a skillful player from the higher leagues who clearly can't be arsed. If he puts himself about up front that's all we need really, as the likes of Thornton, McKenzie and McKay to an extent will excel in the space created.

Cant comment, might be good - chances are he's s*** though. Im only basing that on 25 years of loan signings mind. The law of averages gives us a decent 1 around every 10, and with strikers its probably worse than that!

The law of averages gives us a decent 1 around every 10, and with strikers its probably worse than that! You are spot on. Strikers are virtually always sent out on loan in an attempt to revive a barren strike rate. So it should come as no surprise if it doesn't work here either.

he sounds nothing like kenny deuchar ?!?! if he plays up front, likelihood is mackenzie or mckay wont play, and thornton hasnt started the last few other than those 2 points - spot on.

I'd like to echo the few voices of reason on this thread: give the lad a chance.
I just hope the he'll never read this thread, because it wouldn't take a 'cry baby' to be pretty disgusted by some of the comments on here.

I recon he will be well taken to , if he puts in alot of effort and has a bit about him then he will be welcomed. I like that hes a striker / wideman reather than a wide man who cna play up front

Even if he just runs around like a mad loony, like Chris Hargreaves on speed, then there should be enough havoc to distract the enemy. Having said that, a scoring ratio of 3 in 26 games, or whatever it was, shows he is not the prime striker we need. The stats rarely lie. All we can hope is that by some miracle he suddenly finds some scoring boots for a few weeks.

Well quite often strikers with good strike ratios fail to meet that stat in our club so it would be good if the opposite is true and that on joining us he becomes a goal machine. Heres hopeful.

That 12 yr old was sold and we starting winning. What's your point? Jacobs is obviously one for the future and I think fans would like to see us keep him and watch him develop. Rather than as soon as he breaks into the team let him leave or sell him.
This is in no way comparable to the 12yr old, stupid thing to say.
The Cobblers have and will always sell players on, whether they are 12 year olds or young players starting to make their mark in the first team. Do you remember a player called Bradley Johnson? If somebody comes in for Jacobs (which I very much doubt at the moment) and the offer is reasonable then we will sell him, I've never been more sure of something oin my life. It's not me that's stupid here, it's you lot that despite all the evidence to the contrary suddenly think this leopard is going to change it's spots! Riches: You're old enough to know better!

Good player but dived far too much. His penalty miss at Mansfield in the play offs is hard to forget, on a night when we deserved to progress.

heard a strong rumour that a certain big man is looking to get his way back here..........and is currently in negotiations......
will be welcomed, clearly, as guinan isnt going to get near the team again if we would rather play with holt up front on his own.
