I doubt referees are able to overrule linesmen for off-side at this level. I would still like to know why the linesman was replaced at half time.

Weather won't be a problem, pitch is decent. Be better for oxford if it was off the way we are playing.
If you can show me a pub around sixfields where you can get 2 for a fiver ill shout you a pint.
I paid £3.40 for two pints of John Smiths in the bowling alley bar at Sixfields prior to last Tuesdays game. I'll forward you my adress, you can send me a couple of tins or the money, thanks.

Seen the goals on the FL Show too, Constable miles offside but s*** camera angle for Pitmans goal is hard to judge if it is offside or not but according to Aidy, both goals were offside hence his complaint to the match officials As for the crowd, well done in turning up in numbers on a horrible rain soaked day

The linesman in the first half was always behind play and struggled to keep up with play this meant that he missed loads of offsides including constables goal. Did the linos swap sides in the second half or was he replaced?

Agree on that - the linesman gave himself a huge problem by being a yard or two behind the line time after time. It's a hard enough job when you keep up - and then up in the away section at Oxford, we have a better view than him a lot of the time in any case. Our group wondered if it was the same linesman in the second half, but assumed that it must be as, looking as different as they did, the linesmen clearly hadn't swapped.

Having seen replay - I would question Danny East's positioning for both goals. If anyone was playing the Oxford players onside it was him. I am sure half of his problem was playing left back.

The linesmen did swap - the guy in the second half was much taller.

It was a game of personal battles and we lost too many. Demontagnac did his usal thing of standing where he is least likely to do any damage in defence or attack, Robinson wasted several chances when well placed to cross in the box and Bayo never got close to the goal. Hornby looked knackered after half timw which isnt unusual for someone his age.
Basically we got a liitle too big for our boots and got patted down by the god of football.
And why no Moult? would have liked to have seen him.

**** day really all round for me Sunderland lost,Cobblers lost & i dropped my phone & cracked the screen allso the beer in the Priory was **** my mate brought a pint & only drank a 1/4 it was that rank
To say the beer in the Priory wa rank is frankly silly...range of real ciders, White Horse, Brakspear and other ales, plus the usual lagers! Try the range of real ale pubs, cocktail bars around the centre and Jericho as a load of us did before making such sweeping statements! Who on here cares about Sunderland?

I wasn't at Oxford so I am unable to comment on the match but I would observe that we have 2 main weaknesses in the side, Robinson and Demontagnac. I am commenting on ability not effort. Jake runs his socks off but his final ball is all too often simply not good enough. Ish needs to get some steel into his game. He rarely takes on defenders down the flanks but glides across the pitch avoiding tackles. It may be a confidence issue with him. But with both these players not delivering enough into penalty box the forwards are starved of decent balls. End result is days like yesterday when according to Aidy we didn't give their 'keeper nearly enough to do. Changes needed to these positions if we are do anyhting in the second half of the season.

Well ours was ok..Kassam to city centre for £10, but yes, £17 for the other carrier to the station was a rip-off! Taxis in Oxford are generally by far the best (time wise and price) I've ever known throughout the country tbh.

Fully agree. I personally think they played their best when they came on as wide players for the last half hour at accrington and tore tired defenders apart. Problem is that worked so everyone incl. AB thinks they have to start.

The other thing that happened yesterday was that their centre backs had no problem at all with Bayo. It was not one of the 90% of games where he's 'unplayable' - it was one of the 10% where he gets neutralised.

Not entirely sure about that! Certainly during the 1st half he did quite well! What Oxford did well was too keep him out of their area - our midfielders failed to give Bayo the service he needed. Interestingly when Platt came on he was able to get into the box more often.
