Did anyone find any other boozers last season apart from that massive one off the roundabout by the ground?

I found that place pretty soul-less....

Having just read through their messageboard they're worried about their "lightweight" midfield and how it's apparently being "outmuscled" every week. Time for Wedderburn and Osman in the middle again I think, with Thornton drifting inside to provide a more attacking edge.

The ground is in the middle of nowhere with nowhere to park and nowhere to drink and if you do manage to find somewhere to park you will probably get a ticket. Apart from that its alright !

Am I taking a risk driving down there then? There must be a car park surely?

There is a car park at the ground but it's permit holders only. Parking is prohibited at the nearby retail park and surrounding streets. STFC apparently do a £2 Park & Ride scheme from the Shire Hall on a matchday commencing from 12:30pm.

there is a petrol station near the ground, (on edge of the town) which has a large supervised parking area to the rear for about a fiver.
About 5-10 minutes walk to the ground

We parked at Shire Hall last season. It was pretty straightforward.

I see if you booked in advance at Shrewsbury you could save £2 then add the booking fee on a whole £1 pound saving.

Decided against that as knowing my luck i would end up coming down with a bug and not being able to use my ticket.

Paranoid I am or what.

prob 4200 won't be there - seriously though I think going to both matches even for the regular away crowd will be a stretch financially.

I am going so I guess will have to offset the expense with basic food rations.

Yep, but my worst fear is that we lose 5-0 against a team of second string Liverpool players none of us has ever heard of or cares about in a half-empty Anfield...really hope that doesn't happen, but not sure I could face it. I'd rather go to a match than a mis-match...but at least the Liverpool game may earn us the wages for another striker.

That, as well as work commitments meaning I can't get to Liverpool mid-week...!!!
