He might. He might not. If a 2 year deal and a transfer fee was involved then he would go as he is at that stage of his career that unless we matched terms he would be a fool regardless of his big love for us to turn it down.

I think someone should just take this city of Peterborough and just... just flush it down the f***in' toilet

For me the answer is simple...it depends on who comes in for him. IF a Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley, Bristol City...a struggling champ team for instance...decided to take a gamble on him (even double his current wages would be cheap at that level) then its a dead cert...especially if we get offered a decent fee for him.
I would be quite surprised to see him leave for another club similar in size and stature to us...like Gillingham for instance...because its clear that he loves it here and he's on I would guess a very competitive salary for this level.
The problem we have with him is that he is priceless...despite Aidy's failed attempts to create a team that is as effective without him as it is with him. And unless we got silly money for him...which is very unlikely given his age and contract status...we would not be able to bring in someone as good with the money to replace him.
I hope that we do not accept 100k or whatever for him...in my opinion the club should put a minimum of 250k on his head. With him, I think we have a great chance of the playoffs which means decent end of season revenue, more than the money we would get cashing him in. Without him, the season could end fairly quickly for us because the Moults, Wilsons, Toney's of this world are not ready to fill his boots just yet. I do though believe that given time..ie, next season...we will be able to be very decent without him. But we are not ready just yet to end the love in! We all know Aidy would like to think so...but he must realise the same as we all do!

As long as we keep Hackett, we have a chance.

He's not a Championship player by any stretch of the imagination.

Thats a bit of a loose brush to tar him with! I'd agree, he isn't a Cardiff/Leicester/Leeds quality of player, but I would say he'd fit into a Barnsley/Peterborough/Sheffield Wednesday side.

We've been here before. Last time we turned down offers in the hope he'd resign and then he left for nowt. The answer is simple get him to sign within the next week or get rid and get a bit of cash for a replacement. To be honest after all the messing around last time even if bayo was to say he would sign again at the end of the season,I'd be inclined to take it with a pinch of salt. Sign on or ship out.

Probably get flack for this but he does make us very one dimensional. Long throw..... Bayo , Centre backs..... Bang it up to Bayo. Very little football played on the ground when he's in the team. He will be gone long before we make league one anyway so if theres any cash to be had , take it and start playing football not hoofball. Also , wouldnt bank on his allegiances anyway after last time.

i think you will find that is the style that AB chooses to play - we play it a lot more direct when platt is in the team, and if bayo went his replacement would be more in the platt mould, as bayo is a one off at this level.

If we can guarantee getting in another player as effective as him then ok, but as guarantees in football are as rare as excitement at a rugby match then i'd say it would be foolish in the extreme to even think of letting him go, maybe even suicidal with nicholls out for the season and safety not yet in the bag

He has been our best centre forward for 30 years or even longer. You have to go back to Cliff Holton,Frank Large,Alec Ashworth,Bobby Brown etc to find better. Yet you seem to ignore this with narrow minded criticism so ignorant that the facts are simply ignored. You should apologise to all on here for your views on Bayo.
