In our last 10 games home and away, we've W6 D1 L3, collected 19 points and scored 22 goals.

So we got a hiding on Saturday. Every club gets one from time to time. The squad will no doubt go through what happened and take steps to prevent it happening again.

I think there needs to be a sense of perspective from some people on this thread. We have come on in leaps and bounds in the last 12 months, from being in free fall and absolute certainties for relegation to a decent, upper mid table side with a realistic chance of finishing in the top 7. We've also got some excellent players other than Akinfenwa such as Widdowson, Hackett and A Nicholls.

I agree that this league is poor, and there's no reason why we shouldn't do better, but surely some perspective is needed given the context of Aidy's recent work?

Admirable sentiments but not sure if you witnessed the Chesterfield,Barnet and Bristol games. As for Widdowson and Hackett at Chesterfield had you seen their performances you might well have expressed a more guarded opinion.

Your post is misleading - I sat just two rows behind the "Sausage Thrower" too the left of the goal. It was clearly a random throw and not aimed at CC who was in the centre spot. Unfortunately the "missile" landed near Langmead but further on from him was dear old Luke who at a guess was the intended recipient. Later I learned that the thrower was ejected for Offensive Language. To cap it all the "the thrower" was in the Royal Navy and was on one of the Coaches.

I have only been to 1 away game this season, at Burton. I have been to all bar one home game though.

Quoting 3 matches from 26 where those players didn't play well is, in my view as a sign of progress.

In the last 3 seasons their predecessors (Corker, Arthur, etc etc) would have had a far worse percentage than that. Remember we are in L2 so players at this level are bound to be inconsistent.

Apologies if this has been posted already but Boothroyd said the players were squaring up to each other in the dressing room at half time.

I have heard a couple of conspiracy theories as to why we put in such a shockingly bad performance but can't print them as they would be libelous  Grin

Amidst all the chicanery and platitudes, has nobody spared a thought for those of us incensed at the mere suggestion, that a perfectly good sausage roll was sacrificed in the name of this defeat? Have the lunatics taken over the asylum? Am I the only one left reeling in shock by such a reckless course of action.

Even on this unholy alter, where truth and integrity lay sacrificed with such gay abandon. There must remain a degree of reverence for the noble sausage roll.

The fact that this heinous crime was met with nothing more than mere ejection from the arena, suggests a degree of moral turpitude, so pernicious that any attempt at moral salvation seems pointless.

...although your complaint is based on the presumption that it was a "perfectly good sausage roll" whereas it might have been an entirely unsatisfactory one, thereby rendering its tossing entirely in line with the unsatisfactory nonsense going on on the pitch...?!

Excellent self policing.  Wink

I would hope that other board members exercise similar restraint before we veer into anything libellous and/or slanderous that may attract legal action and/or embarrass the poster, player(s), management or any of the NTFC staff.  Cool

The fact that they cost on average £30 from any football tuckshop makes it more shocking. I would have tried to jump and catch it had I been there!  Grin

Could that bloke with the really long hair and straggly beard not have blessed it and used it feed the 726...?

The three named matches were only quoted as an example; you can anticipate there were others particularly at the away games! The fact is that last Saturday the three players you named had very poor games indeed;but so bad was the overall team performance that it even obscured their dismal performance. I am afraid to say that had you witnessed last Saturday you would have difficulty in arriving at your overall conclusion however well intended.

I have heard..... allegedly... that Robinson aimed said punch at Bayo , missed and landed up on his own arse.
The rest of the dressing room then remarked that it was a bit like one of Jake's tackles  Grin

If it was a case of those punching whoever was playing sh*t it would have been a Royal Rumble they were all that bad. My money would be on Jake "The Snake" Robinson.
