Just wondering if anyone else on here witnessed an incident after the game on Saturday afternoon involving a young couple in an 07 reg big (A6 or A8?) Audi?

There was a large group of people crossing at the lights on Walter Tull Way going back to the car park and, as often happens, the crowd continued to cross when the lights turned to green. This appeared to annoy the young male driver of the Audi and he revved his engine and drove quite aggressively at the crowd. The female passenger wound down her window and chucked out some general abuse. What they hadn't reckoned with was having to stop at the queue for the roundabout a few yards further on, and one bloke followed them and more words were exchanged.

I guess it's too late to do anything about it, but the crowd was made up of the usual mix including kids and older people so it was a really stupid thing to do, especially as the only adantage to be gained was to reach the back of the roundabout queue a few seconds earlier. It's just that it's making me more not less cross as time passes, so just on the off chance that anyone else who saw it made a note of the number...?

As its been nearly a week and nobody has mentioned it before why do you feel you need to try and do something ? How did it effect you, enough to eat away at you for so long ?

Erm...perhaps because some idiot drove at a group of fellow supporters and could have done some real damage...!? But if nobody else was bothered by it, I'm perfectly happy to let it go. You seem to be defending the driver's actions...why...?

Be careful what you wish for a friend of mine had a similar situation at a level crossing a while back.
He took it up with the police and was cautioned for walking across while the red light was showing!!!
He was also warned of his future conduct!!!
Fact is.
As pedestrians it is only legal to cross on a green or flashing amber.
Crossing while on red is not allowed.
We've all done it while at sixfields but however much of an idiot the driver is perceived to be it is actually the pedestrian who is in the wrong.

...or, in this case, about 75 pedestrians...all so clearly in the wrong while the driver is in the right...?! Technically maybe....but the driver was within inches of hitting someone and, had he made contact, that could have been a prison offence. The "contributory negligence" argument is one of the most despicable we ever come up with.

You can't base anything on the fact that some many people were breaking the law by blocking the public highway then say the driver was at fault.

With respect, that's complete bollocks. If he'd used a baseball bat rather than a car to threaten a group of people, you could certainly do something about it. I've had enough of this now.

If its my right of way, I have no qualms about driving in to someone (other than damaging my car).

Anybody who aggressively drives into a crowd of people is a moron. Right of way should give way to common sense! Roll Eyes
At the crossing mentioned the number of times drivers recklessly drive across when the lights are amber is stupid.
We need all the support we can get not mangled up on a crossing ............ddddddoooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh Huh?

Its just a guess, but are we currently on an unbeaten run, haven't sold anybody for peanuts and have whatever drink we want on demand the moment we click our fingers.

Perhaps a few of us (myself most definitely included) need to get a life.
