Stevecob, glad I got the score right, the old memory dims just a little with age ! I was 12 in 1959 too and as my birthday is 22/2 I must be just a tad older than you.
I have been a season ticket holder for many years now, including all of those in the Sixfields era. It's just such a shame that Graham Carr's team never got to play there.

43. My grandad used to take me in mid 70's when I was around 5, can't remember any scores etc. The 1986/87 season was when I got hooked. From 1986 to around 1995 I went to around 35 games a season. Now I only go home games due to having a family

65. My Dad took me as A birthday treat in 1958. We beat Exeter 9-0. I thought it would always be like that. Really got hooked in the promotion year to Div 1 in 64/65.

25yo First game 1965/6 aged 4 or 5 V Tottenham, watched from cricket side with Dad, never returned until 1970 V Gillingham, won 1-0 frank large goal. Pre decimal, 10d admission. Regular ever since.
I have never seen the Cobblers play in the 2nd tier of English football, isn't it time for a new 5 year plan?
I've seen the Cobblers play competitive games against 89 other league clubs, just Arsenal Chelsea and Everton not seen.

First game for me was around Christmas time, 1927 I think..against Luton Town. Left at half time - we were 5-0 down and s***e..and it was kicking off with a Luton firm on Abington Park, which I thought would be more interesting. Apparently, the Cobblers were a bit better in the 2nd half! I'm 102 btw.

62. First went on the Spion Kop with my mates dad in 1959. Beat Notts County 4-2 and became addicted going to most home games after that. Saw all games home and away in the first division along the cricket side duckboards. Missed a few years when lived overseas in the late seventies/earlly eighties but been a season ticket holder at Sixfields since it opened.

I'm 43, the family moved down from Cheshire in 1977, my grandad used to come down to watch the Crewe v Cobblers games in the late 70's and early eighties. I started going to home games in the 83/4 season, and my first away game by myself was the FA Cup tie at VS Rugby in '84

Im 32. First game was away at notts county in 1999 when I was at university but been following cobblers since 93-94 season.
As my forum name suggests, my great grandad was Fanny Walden who predominantly played for spurs during his career in the 20's buy did spend 4 seasons at the cobblers. When I was younger I followed spurs but when you begin to appreciate football it was always going to be one team for me. What a mistake!! I now attend all home mid week games as I work Saturdays and a fair few away days as well during the week. Looking forward to Gills.

Frederick Ingram "Fanny" Walden (1 March 1888 – 3 May 1949) was an English professional footballer who played on the right-wing for Northampton Town, Tottenham Hotspur and at international level for England during the 1910s and 1920s.

55 and my first game was the 1-1 draw against Man Utd when we were in the first division. I went to quite a few games that season and the ones after, although I can't remember too much about them. I was routinely dumped at the front of the main stand right next to the Hotel End so my dad could stand further back with his mates. I guess it was the nearest equivalent to the family stand in those days. They talk about watching the club play Man U as a once in a lifetime experience. Well mine is three times and I wonder if anyone on here managed four? I very nearly went to the fateful Fulham game that season but when we turned up and saw the crowd for the game it was deemed unsafe for me, so I was shipped off to grandparents for the afternoon. If only our self imposed health and safety had been ignored I still think i could have made the difference.

22. The first Cobblers game I can remember my Dad taking me to was in the mid nineties away at Fulham. Since that time I lived in Australia for 6 years and now reside in South East Asia. If I'm not in the UK to get the game I always try to catch the game on Cobblers player. The best thing about listening in Vietnam is K.O is 9/10pm on a Saturday night. Perfect for a few beers and a takeaway.

I'm 38, just, first game 4th October 1986, Northampton 4-2 Aldershot. I was in the old family enclosure on my own, I still have no mates now, and Dean Holdsworth was still a fat nob.

I'm coming up to 63 (in 3 weeks' time), and have followed the Cobblers for over 50 years. I can't recall the first match I went to, but have great memories of standing on Spion Kop with my dad, grandad, and uncle Bill. It was a great time, seeing the Cobblers at the top level, even if it was for only the one season. Folklore has it that many years ago, probably 1920's, one of our family played for the Cobblers, name of Thompson.
