Macclesfield move quickly and appoint Brian Horton as their manager until the end of the season. Its his second spell at Macc having been appointed in similar circumstances in 2004 when he led them to safety and then to the play-offs the following season.....i'm sure they'll be hoping that lightning strikes twice!

You missed the bit that he was sacked after guiding them to the bottom spot in 2006  Wink

That came later.....I mentioned the bit that was relevant when he joined them when they were struggling near the foot of League two in April 2004. There were only 7 games left when he took the helm....they won 4 and drew 1 to get themselves out of trouble.

More managerial news.....Rotherham have sacked Andy Scott after less than a year in charge.

Probably knows that he has taken Crawley as far as he can, size of club etc.. and would probably struggle in the third notwithstanding their possible points deduction.
Rotherham one of the bigger clubs in the fourth division for next season unless they achieve play-off success.  New stadium and the upturn in results from the inpetus and increased attendances should set him off with some success, I would say a good move.

Can't help but think that the cash may have run out at Crawley and Evans is the first rat to leave the sinking ship as it were. I wonder where the money (about £2.8m) received for Tubbs and Sinclair has gone?

Evans also still in contract with Crawley til 2014 so Rovrum will face hefty compo methinks...

Sanchez....what a G I M P he turned out to be.  You really can't polish a turd, and as hard as Barnet tried, his 'success' in previous employment has left them in practically the same place they were in this time 12 months ago.  Before anyone says anything, yes we might be in the same place as this time last year, but the fat used car salesman impersonator ruined this club to such an extent that 20th might as well be 2nd!
