On the face of it it's a bizarre one, unless something has gone on behind the scenes. Not sure what Charlton are expecting.

He is going to have a knee operation. That's a new term for having you legs cut out from under you.

At least we got Moloney in before they get a manager who might recognise a good player when he sees one!

A full circle of epic proportions...

1. keeps them up.
2. Takes them to the championship
3. Takes them back to league1
4. Takes them to the bottom of league1 and sacked.

GJ is like most managers...he cannot halt a slide which he managed. Wilder has ticked that box....first Cobblers manager I've known too...

If you are in need of a laugh have a read of this When Saturday Comes article (WSC 173 July 2001) about Johnson being sacked from the Latvia manager's job. It includes the classic

"..Johnson left Latvia a forlorn, tragi-comic figure after the disgrace of drawing with San Marino on April 25 (on a comparative scale, we are talking Real Madrid drawing with an injury decimated Corby Town) and losing even a mathematical possibility of qualifying for the 2002 World Cup."
and
"At the end of the game(against San Marino), the stadium echoed to the chant of “Dzonsons go home”, to a rhythm set by the drums he himself had bought. Johnson managed to make things worse by physically attacking a football reporter after the game and then blaming press negativity for the result. The next day, headlines talked of The Blackest Day in Latvian Football and resignation was finally wrestled out of him. Since that eventful evening, abuse from Latvian coaches as well as the press has been heaped on Johnson’s head."

I did find this just after Johnson became Cobblers manager and I prayed that something similar won't happen here ...... er... it did ! Angry

GOOD LUCK TO THE NEW MAN IN CHARGE, I hope he has enough time to sort out the mess that Johnson left behind him.
