Forgive me if there is a thread on here already about this but I can't trawl back through endless threads to see if there is !

Anyway as I retired at the end of December I have had lot's of time to watch the cricket from India , which they call the IPL. The cricket has simply been brilliant with loads of close finishes and amazing batting feats including a brilliant 175 from Chris Gayle. Everyone who is anyone seems to be out there with a notable absence of top English players although given that it is now the English season that is not surprising. Mind you it does make you wonder why the likes of Eion Morgan and Luke Wright are out there and not playing for their counties but I guess is it the lure of the rupee !

One thing I find really annoying though is the habit of ITV4 to put an advert at the end of every over which for me ruins the atmosphere, even Sky aren't that bad. I do accept however that we don't actually pay to watch ITV. I tend to mute the sound when the adverts are on as I cannot bear to watch them.

Also they keep having 2 and a half minute strategic time outs which disrupts the flow of the game and seems completely unnecessary for a game that lasts 20 overs, and they have two per innings. I hope that doesn't catch on.

Anyway it's well worth watching for those who like cricket.
