Any reasonably off club could rinse his merchandise and P.R profile and use him as an impact sub. NTFC short sighted in that respect.

But what if you didn't want to be involved in a stupid slogan like "BEASTMODE" chavs might like it but more respectable potential sponsors might be turned away.

Well he's got a lot of publicity in the national press about it. Not doing bad so far. Expect sales of his stuff to go through the roof in Gillingham.

Might be over-estimating the potential to monetise his profile there slightly!

What are you anticipating?  Shirt sales in China?  Range of childrens books?  Rap album?  Bayo vs Rolex collaborations?

Will probably have more 20min sub appearances than starts.

Ah well he has gone now - whether we like it or not he has been quite easily our best centre forward over the past 4 years. Runs a nice BMW too! Maybe if AB man managed him better he might be still here. I don't think he was an easy player to manage though! There will be times next season when we may all wish he was here still. As for playing at a higher level I would not be surprised if did ok - after all Frank Large did and he was not rated as highly as Bayo.

What!!!!!! Who didn't rate Frank Large as highly as Bayo? In my view that's heresy and time to get out the stakes for burning.

Why are you blaming AB's man management of Bayo? AB gave Bayo a fitness plan and Bayo lost weight and enjoyed a good run of form. When the transfer window shut Bayo seemed more interested in doing weights in the gym and his beastmode brand that actually doing any 'proper' training and as a result he started to pile on the pounds and his form suffered. You should blame Bayo himself and not his manager imo

Looking at Gillingham's current forward options, they aren't going to have much pace... The fact that he managed to get a deal with the team who finished champions of our division worries me slightly when he apparently wasn't the right fit for us.

Who have we been looking at to replace Bayo? Some kids who weren't deemed good enough prospects - Moult did alright for one game last season but then faded into nothingness and is now in non-league. Perhaps the likes of JJ Hooper and Lateef Elford-Alliyu may well come good, but the odds aren't stacked in their favour. Heck, we released a player who went onto play in the Premier League and internationally for Wales so its always possible...

Grin............well you might but from my select position from the Hotel End and amongst seasoned football critics Roll Eyes he didn't. I am not aware of Bayo ever being verbally insulted by our own fans. Cool

New recruit for mail sport, sporting his BMO range. After being unsure at first now I am quite glad we got rid. He looks like all the weight he lost, he has put back on looking at the second picture of this article
