At the risk of alienating all on this board, congratulations to Gary Johnson on Yeovil's promotion.
The unfulfilled promises and continual excuses must have irritated, but don't forget he was sacked after just 8 months so quickly paid the price.
There are few managers that don't have an appointment that fail and at least it shows we were right to employ him in the first place.

'He's done miracles at Yeovil, he's got the smallest budget in league 1, and there isn't a player in the squad on over a grand a week'......that's what Barry Fry said to me yesterday!

Yeovil have managed to do what the likes of Sheffield United and Swindon couldn't. A fantastic achievement, and regardless of what he did or didn't manage at Northampton it's one that should be applauded.

totaly agree 2 other points Yeovil had 20000 fans there which is 50% of the towns population & Brentford have among the worst records in the playoffs 8th appreance in the playoffs & they haven't won promotion in any of them

What annoys me more is that Webster has obviously been doing fairly well for them as well, he was awful for us. Perhaps the theories about GJ being paid to get us down are true...

How my heart bleeds for the poor souls. How on Earth can a poor third-rate player possibly survive on a mere £52,000 a year?

I wonder why normal people are becoming totally disenchanted with the game?

Ridiculous comment! Did you actually watch him play - or just going with the flow of what you've read?  Roll Eyes

I still wake up in a cold sweat having nightmares about his performance against Bury!

Saying that he didn't really have a consistent run of games to settle into that god awful defence.

Well there is no doubt that Yeovil have been fantastic under Johnson and good luck to the club, I do wonder though if the good times have been restored. has anything to do with the fact that Yeovil didn't sack anyone when they took Johnson on, perhaps they signed hi on mainly for his contacts and the team is still run by the chap who was manager.
