Good read, some excellent photos as well, especially the one of the Sixfields Alps and its Snow boarders.
Trevor Gould, brother of Bobby and he used to play for the Cobblers I seem to remember.

Thanks for the comments guys.
I remember how worried a lot of people were when Geoff Harrop left us to join Torquay, however it looks as though our youth set up is going from strength to strength.

Very interesting. Couldn't agree anymore of the batch of young players coming through, they seem to have abit more about them than others. But one thing these lads need is for people not to big them up to much, but i have alot of faith in them. Especially having a manager like Aidy, and many players who have vast amounts of experiences aswell as being good professionals on and off the pitch

You've missed out the Elite Player Performance Plan which allows powerful clubs to take our young players for minimal compensation. So I have to disagree with most of that blog.

You are right in that the EPPP has indeed shaken up youth football and the academy structure.
Essentially it has replaced the old tribunal system with a series of fixed costs. As I understand them, this will make any initial payment for players between the ages of 9 to 16 potentially less than what historically could have been expected, but also increases any future payments based on any first team appearances they make in the future. It has also increased the funding each club receives for its youth academies over the next 4 years.
The pro's and con's of this system are plentiful, and the success of the system can only really be evaluated in 4-5 years time.
However, the majority of the blog was about the emergence of Lewis Hornby, David Moyo, Dean Snedker and Claudio Dias. These are all now over 18 and under contract with the Club so the EPPP does not effect them unless we allow their contracts to run down and expire. It is the progression of these players over the coming season and the amount of first team football they play that interests me as I believe they are the most talented bunch of youngsters we have produced for quite a while.
