Wycombe charge £25 adults for a seat in their main stand, so I would keep this in perspective.
And MK Dons charge £20, or £18 if you're a member, to watch league 1 football on a superior stadium...perspective??

Quite right and there is nothing from stopping you or anyone else heading down the A5 to take up their offer if thats what you want. I do feel £20 a an acceptable and easy amount to manage for ticket prices at this level but there will always be the argument about small capacity and the inability to offer too many deals. Looking at this the rise seems to be aimed at getting increased income from the away support from clubs that on the whole charge us more than £20 to visit them. I dont know how many of our supporters buy on the day but I'd guess its a pretty low number.

The FSF are calling for a £20 max charge for away fans at Premier League games......£25 at the Monkeyhangers is a bit steep!!

£25 at Hartlepool should be boycotted end of story. I'd say the same if we charged that. What is our away ticket price btw?
Anything over £20 in League 2 is a huge no no i.m.o

Unfortunately the Cobblers do not dictate the general pricing of attending football matches in this country. They follow the trend, not set it. If they did what you wanted them to do they would either go bust or have to significantly reduce their spend. They have 'rewarded' the season ticket holders, its cheaper for them. Which is fair enough. To get another 500 people max in the ground by charging less and generating less money overall even with a slightly bigger gate doesn't pay the bills. They are a business. And don't forget its only 8quid for an under 18, or nothing for an under 7. So families are not priced out of the market. You won't win this argument; NTFC is a well run club that doesn't lose money and a club that pays its bills. Once the development kicks in it can increase its turnover and thus increase its spend. Until then, its very much a balancing act even at 4th tier level.

I'm not arguing. Anything over £20 is too much for League 2. I do agree though that there is a lot preventing the club from lowering ticket prices and this will not change unless more money is filtered down from the Prem.

I know a fair few people who no longer attend football matches due to the cost. A couple who used to attend at the cobblers now meet up at a friends house each Saturday, put on a fiver goals galore, crack open a couple of cans and watch soccer Saturday instead. It costs around a tenner as opposed to around thirty quid to go to the cobblers etc.
When people are finding it hard to make ends meet who can blame them for saving twenty quid to pay the bills.
Football has become a bit of a joke the last twenty years and it's plain to see that a lot of people are seeing through it and actually realising it is an expensive pastime that has worn a bit thin.
Let's face it twenty years ago you were more likely to turn up on a cold Tuesday night in January to watch the cobblers as it was the only way to keep in touch.
Nowadays when it's pissing down outside you can turn on sky watch soccer special and by ten o'clock see your teams goals from the match. You can see why spending thirty quid is no longer a gimme.

Why don't those people avoid wasting their £10 on g@mbling and go to watch NTFC every 3 games or so?

Add the cost of Sky to the gambling money and the cost of the booze over a season and you would be close to a £199 North stand season ticket. Its all about choices really and making the right one !

My memory must be fading as I don't remember these massive crowds twenty years ago on a cold Tueday night in January. I thought the crowds were smaller than!

I think the point remains valid though. 1. Money is very tight for many at the moment. 2. You can now watch soccer specials in the week rather than get frozen at the match.
If money is tight the first thing that gets cut back is the leisure pound and in my opinion football in general is pricing itself out of the market at the lower end(ie league two/conference).
I predict within ten years we will have part time teams playing in league two.

And my joy will be complete. An end to over-paid, below-average donkeys playing between fat paychecks and a return to clubmen playing for the team and stars playing for win bonuses.

Shoemaker, you do talk crap at times, people have been saying for 50 years "clubs will be part time soon " More people could be bothered to watch the Cobblers on cold winters nights twenty years ago ? Really ? Average for 1992/93 3234 Average for 2012/14 4785

Teams with averages of around 1500 will surely go part time within ten years.
In Scotland teams that average around the 1200 mark are part time.
There in my opinion will be a part time team in league two before too long.
I think a couple are part time already in the division below us.

I think the club should be applauded for offering a price freeze of sorts for casual fans, which with the improved online booking facility means the £2 on-the-day rise won't put off many people at all. I pick and choose the games I attend far more than in the past for a number of reasons, but the club keeping the price at £20 if I book in advance (which I invariably do) means the price will be one thing that won't affect my decision to go to the match or not.

The conference has always contained part time players, as has the lower divisons of Scotland. I would say that the conference is a lot more full time than it used to be. I do wonder what planet you live on.

You'd need to be as good at maths as George Osbourne to consider a 10% increase to be " a price freeze of sorts for casual fans".
