Last season it cost £20  and this season it will cost £20.The only difference is that you need to buy your ticket 1 day before , so it is a price freeze .

I fail to see how £20 is perfectly acceptable and £22 is a complete rip off.
Is it really that tight a line?

Dear oh dear.
Well what is the difference ?? If last season you paid £20 and this season you will pay £20 , that is the SAME price ,therefore it's a price freeze.

But when you factor in inflation at around 2.7% then this is a decrease in real terms well done the club.

I assume also that those players who have been offered reduced terms are also quoting the same inflation figure.....or is it just used selectively to try and prove an argument?  Wink

Just a stat for you.....we had 10,364 away fans through the door for our league fixtures.....the same this season at the new increased price would bring in an extra 20k or so.....roughly an extra 0.50-0.75% increase in turnover!

I can't believe what I'm reading here in a way.
Tell me in in 1993 when admission was £7.50 that in 2013 it will be £22 and I would say no way would I pay that are you off your head etc.
Frankly pound for pound and put up against other leisure activities football is just not worth the money. Greedy players have successfully milked the game and the supporters dry.
I've not forgiven the team, club, players and manager for what happened at Wembley and I sure as hell ain't going to spend an extra two quid on them.
So selective games for me this season as I witness my game finally disappearing up its own ESRA once and for all!.

I don't know what everyone is moaning about.  It works out to around £11 per shot on target or a couple of quid for each Tozer long throw in.

How do you resolve these moans about prices?
Charge just £15 and to counterbalance the reduction in income, get cheaper Conference players in, get relegated or go bust!
Maybe you think DC should plough thousands of extra money in to subsidise your ticket!

Get in the real world!

In DC and AB we trust.

If you don't think that something needs to be done about the rising ticket prices in all levels of football, than it is you that needs to "get in the real world".

People are being gradually priced out, it's not about the prices for next season, or the season after. It's about the prospect of ticket prices being increased by the same percentage over the next 15 years that they have in the last 15 years. Something has to done to try and prevent that.

Agree , Players escalating wages doesn't help but isn't part of the problem that DC is trying to run a business where the main money making asset stands idle for at least a third of the year ?
Cant see ticket prices ever reducing but redevelopment may alleviate future increases.
If it ever happens !

We all know redevelopment will add to income and the 365 day business plan for the club. However we haven’t been able to finance this in the past looks like there is nothing in place to finance it now and sadly I expect we won’t be able to finance it in the future.
With that being the case we will be treading water trying to make ends meet and putting up a few tickets by £2.
That’s life while supporting a local lower league team. The options are accept it, turn against the club and maybe even support another team with other revenue streams that allow the paying public reduced ticket prices or make a stand get the club to run on a smaller budget and see where that takes us.
I will back DC to continue to do as he feels best, it’s not ideal as a fan but it could be worst.

I think a lot of you are missing the point of peoples concerns, its the £2 extra the causal fan is being charge that people are worried about.
Its ok for season ticket holders and people who buy match day tickets in advance, but the causal fan who wakes up Saturday morning and decides to go to a game is going to suffer, just so the club can rip off away fans.

Do you really think that the difference between £22 and £20 is going to have any bearing on whether someone goes to a game?
Most people don't know how much it is until they get to the turnstile.

I have to agree. I decide fairly late on, living in Sunderland, but I'll just have to order my ticket online. It's no big deal, or am I missing something? If you think you might want to go to the game, make your mind up earlier? If you don't know until the day, the cost has gone up £2. Call it a "convenience" cost of being able to get a ticket at the last minute. . . . . . . or don't buy a drink . . . . . . it's only £2, less than a pint!  Roll Eyes

Im not singularly having a go at The Cobblers but all football in general. In fact lot's of clubs do have other revenue feeds but still charge the same admission and more.
And no I don't have any answers merely just pointing out the facts.
I happen to not have a family, and not that many commitments so in actual fact I can afford to go both home and away if I chose. But I just cannot see myself this year going to more than a few games. £20/22 for the style of play dished up ( and by that I mean themajority of teams and not the Cobblers)

Im happy to pay£22 a game, but would  like to see even more match day improvements such as the introduction of real ale and being more pro active getting in new fans and encouraging casual visitors.
Wouldn't mind an update on the proposed development, even if its only that fanciful picture of a vast new stadium.
