You do all realise that Coventrys first 5 home games are on the same day as ours.

I wonder if the West stand will be the same as the stand at stadium:MK with the hotel built onto the stand? or will the hotel be separate?

So....if my maths is correct and they make the East Stand like the West Stand then they'll add between 3000-3500 seats to the East Stand by adding another tier and making them all "high density seats", then they are going to reduce the West Stand capacity by up to 1000 seats to incorporate the boxes. This will mean the relocation of a number of West Stand s/t holders.
Or they could incorporate the boxes in to the new stand. Depends on the location of other facilities I suppose.

How about they rip out all the seats from the North Stand and put them in the new East Stand so we can finally have our safe standing section

If I suggest more people would turn up to support the club if they had a decent team on the pitch I'm slated.
If I suggest we spend money on decent signings rather than unattached players I'm slated.
If I suggest we spend six figure fees people slate me and constantly go on about getting the club in debt.
When the club gets in debt to the tune of another £12M by borrowing it to redevelop a stadium which hardly ever gets sold out people on here wank themselves silly.
So it's ok not to get in debt in order to put a decent team on the pitch that people will pay to watch but ok to borrow a further £12M to build a stadium.
Im happy it's going ahead but it does rather piss on the parade of the next person to slate me when I suggest spending on a couple of marquee signings to put bums back on seats does it not?

Is is that hard to see that this is a plan for the future? If you plough a load of money into the team now then you may bring in a few more supporters if you get the success, but then you will not have a ground big enough to reap the rewards going forward.
By doing it this way the club gets a better ground through money borrowed from the government (hopefully with 0% interest?) and gets the benefit of all the corporate revenue that the boxes and conference facilities will bring in every day of the year and not just on matchdays. We also get all the revenue generated by the building of 300 houses to help pay back the loan, seems a fantastic plan to me.

I'm not slating you, Shoey - but I would argue that the return on investment for a stadium improvement is far more likely than a return on investment for a paying a transfer fee for a couple of marquee signings.

No mention of the zip wire from the top of the hill Naming the streets in the new housing development in a cobblers related theme should be made mandatory. or if not they should be named after forum members names like.....Terryfenwickatemyhamster court and wrigleys close, maybe even IwishIwasafly towers. MK_Cobbler avenue is definitely out though

Real ale I'm not moaning about the feasibility.
I'm happy that DC may at last have a chance to build the stadium and recoup his investment.
I am at a loss to see how anyone could moan if I wanted to see some money spent on the squad given that everyone is quite content for us to borrow £12M for the stadium. I suggest a couple of hundred thousand be spent/borrowed/loaned to improve the playing side and everyone moans saying we are putting the future of the club at risk!!
If we continue to fail to invest in good enough players to fire the imagination of the public and double our 5000 attendance to the required 10000 to fill it then it wont matter how many revenue streams there are.

It seems to be a very 'safe' way of borrowing 12 million, your way takes us down the road of Leeds, Coventry, Rushden etc.

It won't matter how many revenue streams there are. How much bigger the bar is or how many extra real ales it sells. How big the scoreboard is,if the catering is better,if you can finally hear the p.a system.
It has been proven that we have a hardcore of about 5000 who will pay to watch our hotchpotch of unnattached/released/youth loan players perform. That will be the fanbase as we are used to the way things are and will turn up and support. You will not however persuade another 5000 to turn up unless the on field product is radically improved. If the townsfolk of Northampton were happy with the on field product as is we would already be selling out every week. We are not selling out and evidently the other 5000 are not feeling the justification to spend money too see the current product. The ONLY way to double the crowd is to improve the on field product.
This is not a negative post just one that is trying to state the facts. I hope we get to a point where 10000 northamptonians look forward to turning up to watch the cobblers in the future. They're not at the moment and there's a reason for it.

And what happens if we spend big on players and still don't get promoted, what's the back up plan? I would rather trust Aidy to carry on as he is now, giving him the maximum money we can without risking the club or Mr Cardoza's interest and then spend big when we have the revenue to do it safely.

I am assuming(and who knows if I'm right) That if we spend money on a couple of household names then the public of northants may be bothered to turn up and by doing this it covers the extra cost.
They are not turning up to watch the product currently available as it does not interest them. As I've said Rotherham wasted no time buying in quality to put bums on seats once they redeveloped( they have spent again today) and they have reaped the rewards.
In a nutshell I believe we need to follow rotherhams blueprint. I believe we finally have the infrastructure. We have an experienced manager who could attract marquee signings and also have thousands of apathetic fans in the county just waiting for a spark to get them back into following the cobblers. I believe what with a redevelopment on the horizon,a wembley appearance(I use the word appearance lightly) and a shrewd manager NOW is the time to kick on.
