As of today we have not yet sold one season ticket, but that might change now we are at your ground.

Is it possible to sell a season ticket prior to having a venue agreed?

Its NOT a groundshare ..... they are renting the stadium for their home games ,  we are landlords, ccfc are tenants

Minor point but one that shouldnt be missed

Simon - let me get this straight as it's all a bit murky...

The club owners (SISU) aren’t paying the stadium owners (ACL) any rent – and their motivation to do this is so that ACL lose sufficient cash to make it more commercially viable to them if they sell the stadium to SISU at a bargain price (without a care in the world for how the fans think) – is that their plan?

It's pretty cut and dry for me. If the majority of Coventry fans boycott this "tenancy agreement" at Sixfields, including their Supporter's Trust then we have to stand against it too. As the club which started the first Supporter's Trust we can't with any conscience go along with it for the sake of a few quid.

Like I've said in the other thread NTFC supporter's cannot throw away their morals for the sake of a few quid. If the Coventry Supporter's Trust and the majority of Coventry fans boycott this move then our Supporters Trust and our fans must do the same.

If roles were reversed we would expect solidarity.

Amen.  A few people seem to think we're giving up 50% of the club.

Even conservatively, you'd expect the revenue we'll receive from this every season will be equivelant to a play-off final campaign, an extended cup run or a decent player sale (Jacobs, for example).  How anybody can't see this as a good thing confuses me.

The only "if" is the assumption that Coventry stay in business throughout the 3 year period.

Its a strange one this. Cobblers fans up in arms because a club moves to Milton Keynes against the fans wishes.
Coventry want to move to Northampton, against the fans wishes, some Cobblers fans say its a great idea and will even go to support them.
I haven't looked at the  fixtures yet, but how many fans might forsake Cobblers vs Accrington so they can watch, say, Coventry vs Sheffield Utd ?

It's amazing what a sniff at a few quid can do to people's moral compass.

I also understand that if we draw Coventry in the FA Cup we have to play twice a day apart and an aggregate score is taken  Huh?

Maybe because your only seeing it from NTFC's £ perspective and ignoring the outcry from Coventry fans including their Supporter's Trust and what is good for Coventry City F.C.

What if we end up in the same division - surely it's OK to go once or twice then?

I do feel for the cov fans as they have always been a decent bunch of proper football supporters and I can see why they don't want to travel but in the long run I think by not doing so it will speed up the sad demise of their club.

If they choose not to travel(which is of course their choice) then I doubt they will exist in 3 years.
Maybe this has got to a point where both the owners and fans are ready to accept this.

It seems odd that you'd give up but I guess they've been through hell of a lot.
I'm happy for them to groundshare if in some small way it helps keep their club alive.
However the majority of cov fans don't want it and seem ready to throw in the towel.
I see on their forum they are asking the cobbs fans for solidarity with their boycott but by doing so I don't know if I'm helping make a stand or just speeding up the winding up of their football club.
To me it seems they have little option but to play here because as fans they don't have a say(which is wrong).
Surely it's better to swallow your pride than see the club go under though.
I remember sitting excitedly as a lad watching Keith houchen score a wonder goal to win the fa cup for cov and dreamt maybe one day it could be the cobblers doing that.
I'd have never thought then that we would have reached where we are today.
Don't give up cov fans because us cobbs fans support you it's just that like you there's not a lot we can do as who will listen.
Don't think bad of us as we're a decent bunch who hope you can survive.

Now that's a good post.
The point is that the owners have refused to play at the Ricoh...so should the club fold or should it play elsewhere.
I would prefer they play at sixfields than fold completely. I would also go and see them play for the sake of seeing a game of football ,just as i would go to other clubs i dont support but want to watch a game of footie.

Might go to the home game, no chance of getting a ticket for the away game.

If you look at it purely from the finacial viewpoint it is a good thing for us as we get revenue threorhetically every weekend instead of every other weekend.
However, given CCFC's record in paying rent I have to take this with a pinch of salt as most of the opinion from their supporters is that they wont be coming to Sixfields.
If this is the case how long would CCFC be able to pay the rent?

Having said all that I have a distinct feeling that the Football League will be unlikely to sanction this move as it sets a dangerous precedent for a whole wave of franchise football moves.

All we've got to do now is convince their fans that Carrs Bar was named after Willie Carr . He was a little ginger haired bloke who played for them in the 60's and 70's , for the younger members !

Famous for setting up the 'Ernie Hunt' free kick as well...  Wink

The only way I can see the pitch not being ruined is if we put 50% artificial grass and 50% real grass on it otherwise the pitch is going to be a state especially if winter was as bad as it was last year.
