Platt is a good player when fit. The problem is that because he hasn't played enough it lets the moaners take out their angst on him. There is always one whipping boy player. I have seen enough of Platt to consider him a useful League 2 player and I hope he does well this season.

I think this years striking partnership will be platt and odonovan.
I would have thought replacing the leading scorer with a proven striker would of been a priority but obviously AB must think we have enough to stay up/push for promotion.
O'Donovan 17 goals in 106 league appearances over the last seven years, Platt 37 goals in 228 appearances over the last six years. Those figures would suggest to most that they are both "support strikers".......we do need someone that they can support rather than rely on them to shoot us to League 2 glory.

In a Cobblers shirt, O'Donovan scored the same amount of goals in less than half the amount of games. If they're both support strikers, I know who I'd want.

I think this years striking partnership will be platt and odonovan. I don't think the club have the budget to bring in another proven striker(I may be wrong) but the vibes suggest the platt odonovan pairing with possibly one of the trialists and moyo as backup. I would have thought replacing the leading scorer with a proven striker would of been a priority but obviously AB must think we have enough to stay up/push for promotion. I might be completely wrong and eagerly await a new proven striker by the time I've finished this message!! Stop now

Myproblem with Platt is that he hardly EVER scores a goal, wins a header, passes to a team mate, runs, tackles, looks interested,
Yes , but apart from that , he's a really good player

Only if multiple games in Portugal's top tier isn't 'football'.
Mourinho never played football as a professional at any level. He got into the youth team squad at the 3rd division club his father managed (Bellenenses), but was never offered a pro contract. At 18 he opted for a 5 year sports science degree though continued playing reserve team football as an amateur for a handful of 2nd and 3rd division teams. He even admits himself in various interviews that he was never quick enough to be offered pro terms. He got his first big break as a coach while acting as a translator! There are many variations on his own story that are as legend as the man himself.
