Why is it that EVERY post from Whitedogdo is a pop at his fellow fans?

From the late 70's through to the early 90's I supported a club with possibly the worst ground in the league, yet loved it and never complained as it was "home."
Everyone I knew who went, home and away week in week out apart from the Carr years watched a struggling team which spent most of it's time being re-elected in the 4th division yet we loved our team and never complained and applauded whoever turned out. (Apart from Aidy Mann)
In fact we never moaned or complained just hoped for good days and followed the team through thick and thick and enjoyed ourselves.
Today the club has a devoted owner who has just secured an exciting development to give our club a better home, and a fantastic manager who took the club to Wembley and is slowing building a team to be proud of, one that is challenging at the right end of the table.
Yet never have I heard so many whingeing, spoilt, want it yesterday, opinionated know nothing, miserable c()nts supporting NTFC.
Enough tripe reading for me goodbye.

I've supported aidy to the max but even I was perplexed by him ignoring the obvious need for strikers to support orono an. To go into the York game with 1 senior striker was madness but at least he seems to be changing things belatedly. Gotta remember the voices on here are a tiny majority and plenty were taking the blind support route which is fair enough.

Well said mate. The enjoyment has been replaced by media fuelled expectation of instant success. Your post hits the spot.

Having been one of those there through the late seventies (very late!)/ eighties and travelling around the country with usually no more than literally a dozen Cobblers fans at most..Friday nights at Tranmere, Scunny etc...sorry much of your post smacks of more than a dose of claret tinted spectacle tosh! Certainly the major factor imo between that era and now is expectations. I still smile, remembering the programme notes of the 80/81 through to 83/84 seasons as being described "exciting times at Northampton Town..with a brand new stadium on the horizon". In reality of course, truly the only excitement on the horizon was re-election and a kicking at Swindon! Yes, there is nostalgic fondness of course, but the expectations (understandably) now, given the horizon has since arrived, is that promotion(s) are more attainable. Did you not murmer any descent on the Hotel End the day we were beaten by Bromsgrove Rovers? Footnote: Don't ever remember Jeema being happy..no matter which decade!

Er no...not missing the point..." In fact we never moaned or complained just hoped for good days and followed the team through thick and thick and enjoyed ourselves" If you read the WHOLE thread, the 'we' infers the Cobblers fans of that time as opposed to himself and two mates...thus painting (imo) a biased 'rose tinted spectacle' view of life being a Cobblers fan home and away in the seventies and eighties. Ironically enough, that some of you on this thread are moaning about those moaning (usual snipers outed) when I for one enjoy travelling away as much or more than the eighties. Suppose I should end with a lol here!

I think now is the time to confidently predict that by Christmas RO'D will be well on his way to being our 20+ goal striker and we'll be top with breathing room.

Lets face it, most Cobblers fans see 'THE' (yes that is this forum) as a negative, moany joke. Shame really as it could be something much better.
