What's slightly more worrying as someone who cares about the club is that I'm getting bored of going to games and blasé about the results. Don't think I've ever felt this disconnected from the club. We've been put in a very difficult position as fans having to explain away the Coventry thing for little return on the pitch.
Aidy is very much a my way or the highway type of guy whilst Cardoza runs in the club how he wants to. I guess as fans we have to like or lump it but i'm veering towards the lump it side and so are a few others if the attendances are anything to go by.
Not asking for radical change just wish we could be more progressive on the football side of things. Will be depressing when we play and get beat by Burton who as a smaller club seem to do things the right way.

I decided to lump it this season. The simple reason after wembley I thought with the redevelopment on the horizon and the extra play off cash coming into the club we would try to push on. We haven't.
In fact we have cut the budget and the squad is smaller and poorer than last season in my opinion. We have lost our talismanic striker and not replaced him(unless you count a young loan signing). Loan signings..., The ones we were not going to rely on this season...and last come to think of it. Quotes regards three or four exciting signings and a plethora of quality strikers we were allegedly after came to nothing. I've followed the club for 25 years many as a season ticket holder but enoughs enough. There are stories of redevelopment and subsequent squad strengthening but I will wait to see if that becomes reality before I visit sixfields again. As others have said I have never felt more disconnected to the club I've supported for years and now I've decided that actions speak louder than words and will wait to see what the future holds.

Shoemaker your statement could of been posted in the last 20/30/40 years.......... there is never any ambition in this club...... get promoted never never invest in better players. i said before the season that we would get will be all the frees/released crap that nobody wants and again i've been proved right...... shoemaker i feel ya pain but when you supported this shower of false dreams for years you get kinda use to the BS from the club.... So usual mid to bottom table this season.... then all the crap in the summer about signing somebody who can score goals.....

It might even be worse than that, we get involved at the wrong end of the table we are then in a fight for survival!
Hopefully home form continues but its the lack of ambition that is so frustrating, people are choosing not to go to games, can't Cardoza and Aidy not sense that?

Never mind if we get relegated we can then sign Bayo and Gutts (who both scored on Saturday by the way) in the twilight of their careers and we can all dream of going back to Wembley against Cambridge in the Conference playoff.

To answer the initial question "Thoughts on our team?" We ain't very good! I can see us slumping down the league until such time as Cardoza begins to worry about our survival, and the impact our failings might have on his 'shiny new stadium' project. At that point funds will be released to shore up our season, but by then the home attendances will continue to fall, either because people will just be fed up with the constant misinformation, or maybe watching Coventry will prove more entertaining. Don't mind me I'm just f***ed off. I may never make it as a football manager, but at least I can realize that Clive Platt will never be good enough to lead from the front, not if we intend getting a top half finish. Wembley was a f***ing shambles. And so far I've seen nothing to suggest things are going to get any better

Anyone who goes to watch Coventry instead will be no better than MK fans. I do worry that extra money will be spent in a panic if we are struggling which would be better spent now.
Not so sure we will struggle once Hornby, Langmead and Hackett are back in the squad. The question is whether we will be too far behind by then or will the rest of the squad be fit by then ?

I take it this cyclical optimism/pessimism will persist with every home/away fixture for the rest of the season.
We're solid at home and **** poor away. We'll end up in and around the play-offs. For some that won't be enough, but it never is enough, especially when they have misty eyed recollection of past squads. (tip; Sammo, Razor et al despite being club legends, could never be considered 'class acts' on ability...)
For what its worth
Blyth is better than Bayo. Amankwaah is better than Johnson. Carter and Deegan are no worse than Harding and Hornby. Guttridge was good, but Morris' two assists against Newport indicate he's potentially as good. Emerton is a better squad player than Moult or Wilson.
We look shakey at the back, but thats to be expected with Langers out.
Come at me.

Now I'm in no position to judge Blythe as I've never seen him.
It is however worth remembering he is a Leicester city player who we are borrowing. If he manages to emulate a goal every other game like his predecessor then there is no way he will be playing for us as he will be back at leicester(or bought by Peterborough!!). Where will that leave the cobblers. If he isn't good enough he isn't of much use. If he is good then he will be of elsewhere. How can that be better than a contracted striker with a one in two goalscoring average for the club?? Its all about opinions but my opinion is it isn't better. As for the exciting signings I didn't expect two of them to be out of contract players released by other league two clubs(one of which couldn't get in the team that played against us in two play off games). Again it's all about opinions and I assume some will disagree.

Blyth is better than Bayo.
I like Blyth, but I'm sorry: that statement is ridiculous.

Yeah tbf I don't really believe that. Don't think he's that far off though, especially the 2013 Bayo who was a shadow (figuratively) of his former self.

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-2/winnerWell on average, the bookies have us down as finishing 12th. And thats after 3 games. I happen to think thats optimistic. I will say though that the happy brigade should get their money out because you can get bloody decent odds on us going up, Bet Victor are offering 8-1. Of course, these odds do not mean we won't go up/have a decent season. But what they do show is that the 'professionals' do not rate our current squad that highly. And Im with the professionals.

How many league goals (and league games) had Bayo scored by his 21st birthday the same age that Blyth is now? Give the lad a chance!

I think someone should just take this city of Peterborough and just... just flush it down the f***in' toilet

Holy f***ing s***, three league games in, including two away games where we played with 10 men, and people are writing off the whole season?! 10 matches is, and always will be, the minimum amount of games before anyone can take a decent stab at deciding what kind of season it's going to be.
It's like the Arsenal fans going apes*** over losing the first game of the season. Football fans are so changeable its beyond ridicule.

Other than a chronic lack of firepower and any depth to the squad things are looking okay to me.
