I thought it was about time we created a thread specially dedicated to Aidy and some of his idiotic/ contradictory statements… Most of us have now noticed that he chops and changes his views and opinions on a daily basis.
‘I would be worried if we were top of league two now’
"We've already got better players than Bayo. I love Bayo, he's brilliant”
"A fit Clive Platt, a fit Roy O'Donovan and JJ Hooper with a few more games under his belt are a good strikeforce in this division so I am relaxed with where we are.”
"We know who [our target striker] is and we're going to have a crack at it,"

On the official site today. “Clive Platt got through 90 minutes on Saturday and I think when you have got a player of Clive’s stature and ability it gives the other players confidence. “He feels great and hopefully he will get a run of games now because statistically when Clive is in the team we win a lot more games.
What a pity that confidence doesn't get through to the fans !!

ABD forgot to add "at home"...but then most teams win a lot more games at home

What I find most difficult about NTFC right now is that the communication from them is totally jumbled.
Last week Aidy said he wanted some experience in the squad before Saturday v Rovers. We signed a 20 year old midfielder from Hucknall.
Today he's saying he's happy with the squad except for cente half.
Just set a message and stick to it.

Now he's saying in the Chron that he's happy with the squad and he has lots of good youngsters coming through. He's starting to sound like Lewis Hornby's flip flops.

Quote 28/08/2013 "I've highlighted a couple of players and it's just a matter of whether we can do something. Quote 02/09/2013 “It’s clear that we do need another centre-half; Matt has been excellent and I think he is just what we need right now. Heath has penned a deal to remain at Sixfields until the January transfer window but Boothroyd is happy with the rest of his squad. Someone give him a nudge and tell him we already had Heath on the books…

It's the club statements that have really annoyed me this season. Slightly more so than the poor performances on the pitch.

I think it's safe to say the man's lost the plot, and will pretty soon lose his last job as a manager in the football league. Quite a fall from grace really, considering he was touted as a future England manager during his Watford days. I assume they weren't referring to England C, but who knows.....

MK Cobbler, one of these players is probably Matty Harriott and if you listen again to Boothroyd's interview on Cobblers Player he clearly states he would like to sign another experienced defender (along with Matt Heath), and this will hopefully happen in the next week or two. Probably once David Artell has moved on in this transfer window or on loan when the loan window re-opens next week.

And if he doesnt move on, then nobody comes in. And Artell still does not get picked.

"The last thing I want to do is stifle their development by bringing players in who are going to be sat around doing nothing " So bring in Hooper and not play him, and put Blythe on the bench,

This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England.

How long will it be before Boothroyd is shown the exit? I hope he takes Clive Platt with him. Platt is as much use as a cardborad cutout, and Boothroyd needs treatment for thinking he's any good.

if you want to read eccentric comments there is quite a few on this board - some made by the posters on this thread. AB comments pale into insignificance when compared with some of those

Something along the lines of
'I'm not going to bring in young inexperienced players on loan when we have a good set of youngsters here'
3 days later a 21 year old striker signs on loan from Leicester...

I liked Boothroyd and always thought he talked a lot of sense but even I've started to get a pi55ed off with the whole thing now. First we have '15 strikers to choose from to replace bayo' which turns into 'our current strike force is adequate', then 'were looking to bring in experience' to 'happy with what we've got' what is going on??? Its not normal for a person to change their opinion so radically for no reason??? Are AB and DC realising that their 'exciting' targets are too expensive for our budget which is why we've had to start accepting mediocre players which fellow league 2 teams have released?
Literally cant be bothered with my team at the moment. Wouldnt be so bad if they didnt build up our expectations over the summer.

My apologies. His contract has just been terminated.

Sorry, couldn't resist. I promise that this is my last Clive Platt reference until at least Saturday! "Wherever he goes he scores his share of goals, but just as importantly he creates a lot more for others and I know we have agreed to sign a very good player."

Thats true. A midfield of Tozer and Morris are superb at throwing the ball into the box.

The saddest thing about that statement is that he actually seems to believe it. It's embarrassing.
